Rental Car
There are plenty of rental car options from the SLC airport. The link below provides all of their options and pricing.
Train
If you do not want to rent a car, there is a train from the SLC airport to Layton that costs approximately $5 each way and takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. From the Layton train station, the recommended hotels are about 3 miles away or an 8 minute drive which will cost another $10 via Uber or Lyft. On the other hand, an Uber or Lyft directly from the airport to the recommended hotels would cost between $40-$50 without a tip, and take about 30 minutes. If you wish to take the train, you will get on the Green Line at the SLC airport. On the fifth stop, you will transfer to the FrontRunner. Layton will be the third stop on the FrontRunner.
