Mizuha and Ji Su met each other in the 8th grade, where friendship began over a frog dissection. Over the past 15 years their friendship across continents stayed strong and Mizuha has always been a (sarcastic) sounding board for Ji Su. And while Mizuha and Ji Su don't like to show that they enjoy each other's company, they've taken trips to see each other in Baltimore, Japan, Korea, San Francisco, and New York City. Mizuha is thrilled to be a bridesmaid for Ji Su as, according to her, this must mean they are "friends forever".
Daisy
Bridesmaid
Daisy and Ji Su's friendship dates back to Digital Electronics class at Harvey Mudd, where Ji Su helped Daisy put together a circuit wire by wire, and Daisy snuck Ji Su's homework in and out of class. Since then they have survived a low-budget Asia trip (ask them about the Taipei hotels), COVID-19 pandemic, two cockroaches and a AC-less summer in their townhome, and the Chloe Ting fitness challenge. Daisy is one of Ji Su's closest friends and is probably one of the only people she could survive a long pandemic with.
Soyeon
Bridesmaid
Soyeon and Ji Su met in the 8th grade, and became close friends almost instantly (i.e. mutually Top 8 on MySpace). They spent many hours on MSN messenger (!) talking about... different things that teenage girls talk about. Soyeon has been a steady constant in Ji Su's life no matter how far they are apart from each other, and is a true confidante -- someone that Ji Su can go to, to talk or rant about anything (and anyone...).
AJ
Officiant/MC
AJ is a professional third wheeler, and Ji Su's original karaoke friend. Ji Su and AJ met at Stanford, where they spent their unemployed student days thinking about how to get an entry-level job without 5 years of experience. After they both somehow landed jobs in San Francisco, they continued to meet up for happy hour drinks, Korean barbeque, and karaoke nights. And when AJ first met Paul, he told Ji Su that Paul was the one for her and predicted correctly that they'd get married.
Muyoung
Groomsman
Hard to believe Paul has known Muyoung since middle school. From youth group buddies to college roommates and beyond, Muyoung has been a solid friend throughout it all. Muyoung is also a professional philosopher, Park Hyo Shin fanboy, and can fall asleep anywhere. What a remarkable combination.
Justin
Groomsman
Paul and Justin became friends through church during college. Justin's sense of humor, funny stories, and willingness to listen make being friends with Justin a joy. Also, Justin is probably the 2nd best person to fall asleep anywhere at anytime (right behind Muyoung). So, Paul was very surprised to hear that after adopting Talia, an energetic puppy, Justin now has a normal adult sleeping schedule.
Jerry
Groomsman
Jerry is perhaps one of the friendliest and easy to talk to people in the world. Jerry has always been a dependable friend and mentor to Paul since college. He's also a talented singer and pianist (although he's very modest about his skills) and professional car purchase negotiator.
