We first crossed paths at a birthday party for one of my friends. My best friend, Emily, had brought along her brother, Blake, who was home from Texas A&M for Christmas break. He was meant to be our “chaperone” and designated driver for the night—but fate clearly had other plans. From the moment we started talking, Blake and I were drawn to each other. Conversation came effortlessly, as if we had known one another far longer than a single evening. By the end of the night, he asked for my phone number, and in the days that followed, we spent hours talking late into the night. When he finally asked me on a date, I had no idea it would become one of the most meaningful nights of my life. Over dinner, there was endless laughter, deep conversation, and a surprising number of common interests. There were no pauses, no awkward moments, only smiles that never seemed to fade. It was, without question, the best date either of us had ever been on. It didn’t take long for us to realize that this was something special. God had lovingly written our story and created us for one another.
