In Fall 2020, while on a digital-nomad adventure through Moab, Jinie opened up the Hinge dating app to see what the Denver dating scene was all about. From across the country in Washington D.C., Nick did the same in anticipation of his move to a new city. Neither of them actually lived in Denver at this point, but connections were made. The lesson? Never let facts get in the way of a good love story.

While on an extended work trip in Manila, Nick plotted to propose to Jinie in Seville, Spain, during vacation after a friend's wedding. While all of Jinie's friends and co-workers were SURE she would come back engaged, Jinie was positive that Nick hadn't had time to plan anything yet. Needless to say, she was shocked when Nick popped the question in a small plaza near the Cathedral of Sevilla! The day was capped off by a sunset photo shoot in some of the city's most iconic locations.
