We met through the Oregon State Navigators, a Christian group that we were a part of. Sara was one of the first people I met. I began to notice and develop feelings for her around spring time in 2018, and finally admitted it during a men's retreat to close friends Ryan and Nate. Through some mutual friends, we were able to hang out that summer a couple times, going climbing, hiking, and to Chick-fil-a. Things began to progress the start of my sophomore year, when we began starting to spend more time together. We would go trick-or-treating, climbing, I would watch her flag football games, and just try to hang out with her. You could probably ask anyone at the time what my chances of success were, and they would have given a solid no. That November, after learning through Bekah Ross that she had developed feelings for me, I told her that I liked her and wanted to spend more time with her, growing our friendship, and on December 27, 2018, we started dating. Sadly, I didn't have the guts to ask her at the top of Angel's Rest, so we had that conversation on the way down. Throughout the year we dated, we grew a lot in our relationship together, as we explored each other's likes, dislikes, means of entertainment, friendships, and goals in life. What continued to stand out to me most after we started dating was that Sara has a huge heart for God and for other people. Of all the things in her life, she pursues working toward God's eternal glory and the fellowship of His people. Plus, she's great to hang out with and talk to. After exactly one year, on December 27, 2019, I asked her to marry me, and here we are getting married in the midst of uncertain times.
