Maid of Honor
I met Natty in college through our sorority, Phi Mu. Natty is my Big Sister and also my best friend. Since we met in the Fall of 2009, we've been attached at the hip. Ten years later (WTF - we are old) we've been there for each other through college, grad school, moves to new cities, international travel, and now adult life! I can't imagine my big day without Natty beside me, and, let's be honest, I couldn't plan this wedding without her! Fun Natty and Charlotte Fact: We live in the same townhouse development, about 300 ft. away from each other. #Sestras
Best Man
I’ve known Dave since High School. We became good friends on the sidelines of football practice. Where everyone else talked about football, school, or girls, Dave and I were discussing Pokemon. I knew I had found a life long friend at that moment. Dave has been a roommate, euchre partner, traveling buddy, and a best friend. Although we live a few states away, we still are best friends and when we see each other the Pokemon conversation starts up again without skipping a beat. Fun Fact: I was Dave’s Best man when he married Anna. Now I am lucky enough to have him as mine.
Bridesmaid
Savannah (Vannie/Van/Squid) is my littlest sister, favorite roommate, on-call nurse, oldest friend, dog walker, sidekick, and quite possibly the only person who loves her cat more than I love mine. Savannah is brave, quirky, down for anything, and lovable (most of the time). She's also not afraid to break it down on the dance floor at a wedding, so get excited! Fun Charlotte and Vannie Fact: I taught Van how to drive out in the country when she was 13 because I didn't want her to be traumatized by having to learn to drive with my mom like I was (you think I'm joking, but... I'm not)!
Groomsman
Kevin has always been like a brother to me. He is someone I can always count on to be there and give me an honest opinion. He is one of the smartest, most logical, and caring people I know. We usually have lengthy arguments on fictional characters and why whichever one we like is better than the other. But when we aren’t arguing about that he is there to give me advice that I always try to go by. That’s a lot, especially coming from an older brother talking about his younger one! Fun Fact: Every time I’ve gone on an international trip, Kevin has been part of the traveling crew. Charlotte informs me though he will not be coming on the Honeymoon.
Bridesmaid
Dana is the only person other than me who knows what its like to be a middle child in the Davis family. Dana is caring, funny, and a fearless mom to my favorite nephew, Emerson (he's my twin). I can't imagine my life without Dana, but I know one thing's for sure: it would be a whole lot more boring! Fun Dana and Charlotte Fact: Dana, in what may be one her better pranks, gave birth to Emerson while I was in a law school exam. Needless to say it was hard to concentrate!!
Groomsman
The first time I met Erin was at the Davis Family Beach Trip. Just the mention of Erin’s name around the Davis family is like that of a kid whispering Santa’s name before Christmas. When I met him he lived up to all the hype. Erin is one of the most thoughtful and helpful people I have gotten the privilege to get to know. He was a HUGE part of making sure I connected with Charlotte’s dad the night before I asked her to marry me!! Thanks again Erin!! Fun Fact: Erin and I are both Eagle Scouts and our sense for adventure hasn’t died out. Just ask him about some of his recent trips!!
Bridesmaid
Naomi is (at least until Jimmy and I tie the knot!) the only person brave (read: crazy) enough to marry into the Davis Family! Nom is my brother Erin's wife and is the perfect addition to the madness that is our family. Not only is Nom fun-loving and incredibly easy going, she's the perfect sounding board for when you just need to talk. Fun Naomi and Charlotte Fact: Before Erin and Nom started dating I bumped into them walking around the mall, and thought, "that's the girl Erin's going to marry." Nom has been around ever since!
Groomsman
I met Jesse my second year of college at MSU. GO GREEN!!!! We were living on the same floor and connected immediately. Jesse had been someone I could go to for anything. He was a great meal partner, partier, or just someone to watch a movie with at the dorms. Many people after college unfortunately lose touch and can't stay in contact as much, as they spread out over the world. However, Jesse has always made an effort to stay in my life, from phone calls and texts to visiting in North Carolina. I’m happy to have Jesse standing up with me on the big day!! Fun Fact: If anyone knows me they know I’m a big gamer. In college Jesse would challenge me everyday and only beat me once in Super Smash Bros 64.
Bridesmaid
Delaney is Jimmy's sister and my future sister in law. In addition to probably having the coolest job out of anyone I know, Delaney may just be the coolest person I know. Seriously, ask her about the job - as far as I can tell she's the next Travel Channel star. I can't wait until I get to call her my sister (and for her to plan all my future vacations)! Fun Delaney and Charlotte Fact: Delaney got to impersonate me at Comic Con this summer. And by that I mean she used my ticket so she could get in, but you know same-same.
Groomsman
Greg has been someone I’ve known for a very long time. He has been one of Kevin’s best friends and has we all grew up together we all became close friends. Greg and I have been through Boy Scouts together and even climbed some pretty tall mountains in our hiking adventures. One really cool thing is Greg now lives in “The Best City in the World,” New York City. If you don’t believe that it’s the best chat with Greg, by the end of the discussion he will break you into saying it’s at least a great place to visit and he is an amazing host! Fun Fact: I have discovered Greg has a superpower: When ever he truly believes something is going to happen the opposite will occur. It has been a source of comedy for years.
Bridesman
Mikey and I met in college at Queens University. We bonded almost immediately over our shared love of sailor jerry rum (don't judge - it was college) and the Queen City. Our friendship even survived living together for a year and a half. Mikey is the truest friend anyone could ask for and is the most photogenic person I know (go look at his instagram now, no seriously, do it). Fun Mikey and Charlotte Fact: Mikey once took me as his plus one to a work holiday party where we got to eat fancy food and put our feet on a rug that cost like $10,000.00. It was, by far, the most luxurious thing I have ever done.
Groomsman
For our friend group Andrew has always been the one to say what everyone is thinking, for better or worse. But I admire this about Andrew to have the courage to speak up and say something for the better of our group and I have tried to work on that trait myself. Another great thing about Andrew is he is tall! No way you can miss him at the wedding. His height was even more beneficial in Japan. If our group ever got separated we would just look for Andrew over the crowds of people and be able to meet back up again. Fun Fact: Before we went to Japan in the airport we decided to get breakfast. So what does any self respecting Michigander go to for a quick breakfast? National Coney Island. We like to refer to each other as the Coney Crew ever since.
Ring Bearer
Emerson Lockwood Davis is Charlotte's nephew. He's four going on fourteen and recently said, "walk with me" when he wanted me to go see his train set. We are actual twins and this get's confusing for onlookers who assume I'm a really bad mom who makes my sister (Em's actual mom!) do all the work with my kid. Emerson loves trains, trucks, Spiderman, and all things Paw Patrol. Emerson and Jimmy also share the same birthday, which makes that day doubly special!
Flower Girl
When she isn’t dominating on the soccer field, or showing up grown men with leg pull ups, or doing incredible flips, she is being an amazing person. Chace has such a go getter attitude that many adults could learn from her. When we were thinking of a flower girl Chace was the first to come to mind. Don’t be surprised if she does a cartwheel down the aisle.
Mother of the Bride
Marty is Charlotte's mom. I am not exaggerating when I say I have the world's best mom. She is the rock-solid foundation on which my life has been built. In addition to being the world's best mom, she's an excellent veterinarian, a doting grandma, and a wonderful friend. She also has a new love of traveling that cannot be quenched. Ask her about climbing Machu Pichu, snorkeling on the Galapagos, sun bathing in Aruba, or castle hunting in Ireland and Germany!
Mother of the Groom
My Mom Maureen is someone I look up to and is one of my biggest heroes. That is quite the compliment as we went to Comic Con and I was sad to see there wasn’t a single booth set up for her. I used to take for granted all the things she did for us. Now that I am an adult, the first thing I like to do when I get home is relax. Not my Mom. She would go to work early and get her day going, so she could be back home to pick us up after school. When I was little I thought this is just what all moms do, but now that I’m a teacher I see that’s not the case. My mom is so selfless. She would help a stranger in need or a family member equally. She was the one that would go on all the Boy Scouts trips, she would work multiple jobs, and she was always there for our family. Thank you Mom. I Love You.
Father of the Bride
Dwain is Charlotte's dad. My dad is type of person you just gravitate towards. He's warm, calm, and has a knack for story telling that often has me comparing him to the movie Big Fish. As a colicky baby, he was the ONLY person who could put me to sleep and he continues to the type of person that makes you slow down and realize everything is going to turn out okay. I can't wait to have him walk me down the aisle in April!
Father of the Groom
I’ve know my Dad Rob my whole life. He is someone of strong integrity, but always has a joke loaded up for any occasion. It may be a joke you’ve already heard 1000 times before, but this is a trait I’ve picked up from him. Dad was definitely the one where we got to do a lot of fun stuff with. A Cedar Pointe Trip or going to the movie theater were always staples. As Charlotte and I start a life together, I would like to be like my dad in that he is always putting family first. He would make sure my Mom and his kids were always happy. He worked hard to make sure we had everything we needed and if times got hard he worked harder. I hope that in the future I have that same work ethic, integrity, and the same sense of humor to bring home everyday to my future home and family.
Father of the Bride's Partner
Kelly is Dwain's partner. Kelly has been a part of my family since I was about fourteen years old. Kelly is the type of person who energizes every room he enters. He is a fun-loving person whose compassion know's no bounds. Ask him about his vintage piano collection or his rescue dogs and you'll be smiling from ear to ear soon after.
Officiant
Joey and Charlotte met in college. I've been able to see Joey go from raucous party-goer to reverend over the course of ten years. Joey is my favorite person to have deep conversations with about religion, politics, and all those other things you're not supposed to talk about. One of the true success stories of my life is turning Joey into a cat person. Another accolade Joey holds is winning the 2019 Beer Olympics at Mountain Weekend with Jimmy as his partner. I feel lucky to have someone as special as Joey officiate my wedding.
Dog of Honor/Ring Bearer
Appa is the world's cutest yellow lab. Jimmy convinced me we needed a lab puppy and although Chef, my cat, would beg to differ, it's been a great decision. So long as Appa is well behaved (read: Jimmy and I actually spend some time training him) he will be assisting Emerson with the Ring Bearer duties. If not, he will be cute in the pictures!
