Alex's version of our story: Jim and I first met in 2016. We were just talking at first then decided to meet. One Sunday, Jim and I decided to meet up at Paul Martin's in Irvine. Armed with some liquid courage, Jim begged and pleaded that we go on our first official date the following week. Jim was the one to make the first, second, third, moves. He had been sending me flirty texts for the previous few weeks, so I knew there was something there. I do remember thinking thank goodness for those raspberry martinis...they were delish! Jim is the funniest person I've ever met and makes me laugh every single day! He makes everything so fun like driving in LA traffic during rush hour for a Laker game to trying to open up a drawer with a pan stuck inside on Christmas day...oh what an exciting and magical experience this has been! He is the tallest person I know and can reach everything in sight...Aaron always said, "You got yourself a Kobe mom." He purposely puts everything up high so I can ask for his help. He gets up off the couch especially during football games (not during commercials) to assist me with anything I need in the kitchen. Jim is super smart (so witty that he always has those quick comebacks!), so very organized (he wants things exactly where they are supposed to be), and in seriousness, so very committed to my family and his, especially his loved ones. He always makes me want to be the best version of myself, whether it's at work, at home, snuggling with Norty, or even just finding the best new show on Food Network or being competitive on any games (just don't let us play Scrabble). I'm so lucky to have finally found my person. He truly is the number #1 overall MVP in my books. I cannot wait to call him my hubby.... after just 6 years of being together. Hence the hashtag #AboutTimeKrieger Jim's version of our story: 2016 was the year it all began; those late-night conversations were some great memories and led to some exhausting mornings. Alex finally gave in and agreed to meet so the date and TIME was set. Alex wanted to meet at 8 pm at the Paul Martins (clearly, she wanted a Raspberry Martini) all the while she knew they closed at 9. When I was chatting it up with the bartender waiting for Alex to be late, he mentioned they were closing soon so if I wanted to order, do it now. My first thought was, “Wow. Not a lot of time to see if this goes anywhere” but I decided a nice vodka soda was needed anyway so let's do this. After arriving and saying hello, we quickly drank our drinks and Alex pleaded to go to another spot because she knew she scored a good one! I can say that these past 6 years have been nothing short (other than my Alex) of amazing. Our journey, like most does not come without trials but that is what love is. The good times are easy, but I knew I wanted to marry my forever Boo Boo during the tough times. Alex’s ability to stand by us, fight for us and celebrate what we have is the true love I was looking for all these years. Alex is such a dedicated person with a strong character and amazing drive to achieve so much. She makes me want to be better, work harder and strive for the unthinkable, because I know WE can. Does this little package come with a lot of sassiness? Oh yes it does, and I love it. I will continue to put things high so she will need me, I will continue to use 3 letter words to score 60 points in scrabble for the win and I will continue to be the best version of myself to be by her side. If someone would have said 6 years ago, here is your future wife arriving late to a restaurant that closes in 45 minutes, can you make it happen? I would have said “Thank you, I only needed 30 minutes, but I will take the rest of the time in life to enjoy the ride”. Ride or Die is the only way we go.
