We met the modern way, on Hinge and it was an instant match. What started with a playful debate over credit scores quickly turned into something special. After a few messages back and forth, Michael asked Jill on a date and gave her three options. She chose the boat, which set the tone for what was to come. Our first date was unforgettable, not just because it was on a boat, but because it wasn’t exactly just the two of us. Along for the ride were three other girls. When Jill asked if it was always like this, Michael admitted… yes, it usually was. Despite Jill insisting she didn’t want a boyfriend, the two of us quickly became inseparable, spending nearly every day together. Deep down, Jill already knew Michael was the one. That summer, Jill had several trips planned, including traveling to Europe for the Taylor Swift concert in Vienna. When the concert was unexpectedly canceled, she made a last-minute decision to take a six-hour bus ride, an eight-hour flight to Newark, and another two-hour flight to Orlando just to make it back in time for Michael’s 30th birthday party. She arrived around 11:00 PM, and just after midnight, Michael officially asked Jill to be his girlfriend. With a handwritten card filled with Taylor Swift lyrics and a beautiful bouquet of flowers, he created a moment she would never forget. He even waited until after his birthday had passed, making sure the occasion was entirely about the start of their relationship.
