Our paths first crossed at work, where we met as newly hired attorneys sharing an office room in Chicago with three other strangers. From the very beginning, Gabe was drawn to Jillian’s smile, energy, and the way she could control a room. Jillian appreciated Gabe’s kindness, humor, and did her absolute best to ignore how cute he was. She was obviously unsuccessful. What started first was a friendship rooted in laughter, music, and shared perspectives that developed into a best friendship. We built trust, always had each other’s backs, and somehow made even the ordinary parts of life seem like exciting little adventures. The spark was there from the start, even if we were on different paths for a while. Still, an invisible string kept pulling us back together. Eventually, Gabe worked up the courage to ask Jillian on a date to Pink Taco. (Jillian did not know this was a date.) Over Jillian’s holy trinity: chips, salsa, and margs, we laughed nonstop and knew our connection was something much bigger than friendship. Our personalities aligned so well, bringing out each other’s truest selves, including all the weirdness, and everything just clicked. Our relationship blossomed through trips across the country and abroad, live music, and countless memories with the people we love most. We seamlessly became a part of one another’s worlds, getting to know each other's closest friends and families and fitting in from the very start. Somewhere along the way, it became undeniably clear that we were meant to spend our lives together. In July 2025, Gabe put his plan into motion and proposed to Jillian at her favorite place, Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland. Atop the Irish cliffs surrounded by the sea, the sunset, and golden-hour light, it was a moment as beautiful as the life we had built together. Jillian said yes! Not long after, we found our wedding venue in North Carolina at a picturesque farm full of nature, greenery, and the outdoor charm we both love so much. In what felt like a fitting sign, we later discovered that the venue can only be reached by traveling down “Lawyers Road.” Some things are just meant to be.
