EAT.DRINK.DO

Here are a few of our favorite things to eat, drink and do whenever we're in NOLA! We hope you can check some of them out!

Parkway Bakery & Tavern

538 Hagan Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70119
, (504) 482-3047

Our absolute favorite place to get po'boys in NOLA. We both love the Surf'n'Turf (shrimp and roast beef), but whatever you get, order it "dressed" -- with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and mayo. That's how the locals do it!

The Company Burger

4600 Freret Street, New Orleans, LA 70115
, (504) 267-0320

Our personal favorite for burgers in the city! Save room for dessert! They have an amazing vanilla malt!

City Diner

3116 South Interstate 10 Service Road East, Metairie, LA 70001
, (504) 831-1030

City Diner, open 24/7 is a great place for a bite on the way from the airport to the French Quarter. Almost every time we fly into town, we go straight there! Jillian recommends the Crawfish and Andouille Hashbrowns, and Alfred loves the pancake. (Yes, that's 'pancake' singular. It's the size of a pizza. No joke! But so delicious!)

Bao & Noodle

2700 Chartres Street, New Orleans, LA 70117
, (504) 272-0004

This place is a hidden gem! Anything you order, it will not disappoint!

Frey Smoked Meat Co.

4141 Bienville Street, New Orleans, LA 70119
, (504) 488-7427

The best BBQ in NOLA! And biscuits! Those things are heavenly.

PIZZA domenica

4933 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70115
, (504) 301-4978

Some of the city's best pizza -- but the Roasted Cauliflower appetizer is where it's at! (Trust us on this one.) Also, their garlic knots are out of this world!

Willie Mae's Scotch House

2401 Saint Ann Street, New Orleans, LA 70119
, (504) 822-9503

BEST FRIED CHICKEN EVER. Also, get the corn bread, fried okra and the red beans and rice. ALL DELICIOUS.

Ye Olde College Inn

3000 South Carrollton Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70118
, (504) 866-3683

Literally everything here is delicious. No matter what you order, you won't be disappointed! Drew Brees has also been spotted here many times!

The Camellia Grill

626 South Carrollton Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70118
, (504) 309-2679

This place has been around for as long as I can remember. Like an old-fashioned dinner with bar seating. You can't leave here with getting a Freeze! It's an icy, magical combination of milk, ice, ice cream, and whatever flavor you fancy! Our favorite is the classic chocolate freeze!

Drago's

2 Poydras Street, New Orleans, LA 70130
, (504) 584-3911

If you love oysters, this is THE place to go! They are famous for their chargrilled oysters, which are mopped with a delicious garlic-herb butter. Seriously, you're gonna want to bathe in that stuff, it's so good.

Creole Creamery

4924 Prytania Street, New Orleans, LA 70115
, (504) 894-8680

Jillian's FAVORITE place in the whole city. The BEST ice cream! Pro-tip: get the sampler...because you won't be able to pick just one flavor!

Cafe Du Monde

Cafe Du Monde

800 Decatur St, New Orleans, LA 70116
, (504) 525-4544

Can't go come to NOLA without going here! Get an order of beignets and a Cafe Au Lait!

The Avenue Pub

1732 Saint Charles Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70130
, (504) 586-9243

Really good bar food. Dump Truck fries (Hand cut Fries, Béchamel sauce, Roasted Pork, Grilled Onions and Port Wine au jus) are amazing! They always have specials too. Their grilled cheese sandwiches are also really good.

Angelo Brocato

214 North Carrollton Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70119
, (504) 486-0078

Best cannolis in the city! Great little spot for gelato and other yummy Italian treats!

Carousel Bar

214 Royal Street, New Orleans, LA 70130
, (504) 523-3341

The bar actually moves in a circle! Don't worry, it doesn't go fast! They make a great Pimm's Cup!

Pat O'Brien's

718 Saint Peter Street, New Orleans, LA 70116
, (504) 525-4823

One of the most famous bars in the city! Their flaming fountain is definitely something to see, as is the dueling piano bar. Just be careful with those deceptively strong hurricanes -- they'll sneak up on you! Local Tip: The souvenir glasses they serve the Hurricanes in are wonderful if you want to keep them (they charge you for them upfront). But if you don't want to lug a big tall glass around all night or worry about it on the trip home, be sure to bring the glass back up to the bar to get your "deposit" back!

The Sazerac Bar

130 Roosevelt Way, New Orleans, LA 70112
, (504) 648-1200

Home of the Sazerac! Great drink, really cool bar, lots of history.

Cure

4905 Freret Street, New Orleans, LA 70115
, (504) 302-2357

The “mixologists” here have actually won a bunch of competitions for their drinks. Jillian's favorite is the Howitzer.

The Bulldog, Uptown

3236 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70115
, (504) 891-1516

The Bulldog Uptown has a huge selection of beers to choose from, and they also have a great patio in front, perfect for people watching on Magazine Street!

Audubon Aquarium of the Americas

1 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70130
, (504) 565-3033

The Audubon Aquarium of the Americas is one of the top five best aquariums in the country! Discover the Gulf of Mexico, The Great Maya Reef and the Amazon Rainforest all in one day! Watch the penguins and the sea otters, and maybe even touch a stingray in the Touchpool!

Airboat Adventures

5145 Fleming Park Road, Lafitte, LA 70067
, (504) 689-2005

Airboat Adventures is located less than 30 minutes from the French Quarter and is open 7 days a week. They will even pick you up from any of the downtown New Orleans hotels! Hop on one of their specialty fan boats to get up close and personal with alligators and the exotic wildlife from endangered birds to flora and fauna not found anywhere else in the country. If you go, ask for Steve as your tour guide!
