Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Jill Gorges and Michael Earles
Planning to spend a few extra days in our neck of the woods? Here are few of our favorites things to do!

Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium

1600 Ken Thompson Parkway, Sarasota, FL 34236
, (941) 388-4441

Come visit Jill's animal co-workers! Who doesn't love seeing manatees chow down on lettuce or river otters frolicking in the water? Who knows what all the critters will be up to when you visit.

Myakka River State Park

13208 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL 34241
, (941) 361-6511

Take a leisurely drive through or stop to immerse yourself in Florida's wilderness. There are several hiking trails and a canopy bridge to explore. Want to get face to face with an alligator? Head to the outpost and rent a kayak! You never know what you will see when exploring Myakka State Park.

Ted Sperling Nature Park and mangrove tunnels

259-201 Taft Drive, Sarasota, FL 34236

Rent a kayak and paddle through the mangrove tunnels. Pack a lunch and have a picnic on a secluded sand island. Who knows, you may even encounter a manatee! Just make sure to schedule your adventure during high tide!

Celery Fields

6893 Palmer Boulevard, Sarasota, FL 34240
, (941) 861-5000

This is one of our favorites places to go for a run or walk with the doggos. It has one of Florida's few hills at the center (yes, man-made) with several retention ponds around it. You can always find beautiful birds and an occasional alligator if you look closely. Great place to go for a walk and enjoy the outdoors all for free!

Siesta Key Rum

2212 Industrial Boulevard, Sarasota, FL 34234
, (941) 702-8143

Go sample our favorite locally made rum! Call for tour times or stop in for a few samples. You will not be disappointed.

The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art

5401 Bay Shore Road, Sarasota, FL 34243
, (941) 359-5700

Immerse yourself into Sarasota's art and circus history all in one location!

St. Armands Circle

431 Saint Armands Circle, Sarasota, FL 34236
, (941) 388-1554

Looking to do a little shopping? The circle offers a variety of shops and restaurants all in one spot.

University Town Center

298 North Cattlemen Road, Sarasota, FL 34243
, (941) 351-9040

The largest mall in the area with everything you will ever need!

Nathan Benderson Park

5851 Nathan Benderson Circle, Sarasota, FL 34235
, (941) 358-7275

This Olympic sized rowing pond has a great walking trail if you are looking to get out and stretch your legs. Staying at Magnolia Pointe? This is just down the road.

For all the days along the way
