We first met on September 4th, 2020, during Iffy’s 21st birthday weekend. Jason schooled at Texas A&M for undergrad and just so happened to be visiting Lubbock that weekend, where Iffy was attending college at Texas Tech. A mutual friend extended an invitation to him to the birthday party, and he decided to tag along. You could say he sort of crashed the party.

Jason: As soon as we arrived, I was honestly blown away by her beauty so I started asking my friend for any information I can get; the message was clear, “Don’t waste your time.” But I’m a resilient guy so I did what I had to do. From then on, I started casually flirting and being playful with her, hoping to leave an impression and clearly I did. On the 2nd day of her birthday weekend, she lost her phone so I told her to give me her number so I could call her phone and we can look for it together. I was just being slick to get her number; the rest as they say, is history. Iffy: I honestly don’t remember our exact first interaction, but I do remember feeling surprisingly comfortable around this stranger at my party. He definitely stood out because if you know Jason, you know he has so many opinions. Imagine, I’m at my own birthday party, and here’s this uninvited guest telling me all the things he would’ve done differently if he planned it ….LOL. But somehow, we kept talking throughout the night, and as much as I didn’t want to admit it, I actually enjoyed listening to him yap. At one point, I misplaced my phone, and he asked for my number so he could help call and find it. Looking back, I know that was just his way of getting my number, but it worked. We ended up exchanging contact before the night was over. After the weekend wrapped up and we had to clean and check out of the Airbnb where I had my party, he followed up with a text, just checking in to see if I had everything I needed and if there was anything he could help with. And it wasn’t just a polite gesture…it felt intentional. Thoughtful. That little moment stuck with me, because it showed me that behind all the opinions and playful teasing, there was someone who paid attention. Someone who shows up in quiet, consistent ways. And that’s exactly who he has continued to be.

One of our most memorable dates was a night out at The Painted Pin in Atlanta. It was Iffy’s first time bowling, so there was a lot of teaching and a little showing off. The food, music, and drinks were great, but more than anything, the energy that night just felt right. It was one of those moments where we both realized that this might really be something special. We were completely ourselves, and it felt easy and exciting.

Our favorite activity together? Honestly is very simple, just bed-rotting with each other, followed by a cozy movie night and some jerk wings from Tastee Spoon. Honestly just existing beside each other is enough.

Our favorite trip so far has to be our stay at Hotel Mousai in Puerto Vallarta. It was the perfect escape…peaceful, luxurious, and filled with incredible service. We spent time relaxing, enjoying the view, and just being in the moment. The only thing we didn’t agree on? Jet skiing. Jason thought it was thrilling and freeing… Iffy, on the other hand, was counting down the minutes until it was over. Still, even that memory brings us laughs today.
