It all started in early 2023 with a simple swipe right on Tinder. Amanda and Jevon had no idea that a casual scroll through a dating app would change their lives forever. Neither of us knew exactly what we were looking for, but as soon as we started talking, we quickly realized there was something special happening. After a few days of texting and late night phone calls, we set up our first date—just a casual meet-up, no pressure. As our love grew, so did our dreams. In February 2024, we took a huge step together and bought our first home. Turning the key to a place that was truly ours was such a special milestone—one that made everything feel even more real. It wasn’t just a house; it was the start of building a future side by side. Then came April 25, 2025—an unforgettable day that would take our relationship to the next level. Jevon had a clever idea for how he wanted to propose. He decided to stage a “broken-down car” moment. So, while they were driving together, Jevon pulled over, pretending the car had broken down. Amanda, slightly annoyed but mostly confused, got out to help hold the light while he “worked on the car.” But just as she turned around, there he was—down on one knee, with a ring in his hand, asking her to spend forever with him. Jevon knew that Amanda would've been suspicious if he popped the question any other way. It was perfect. Now, as we prepare to get married, we can’t help but look back on how this all began.
