Jess: My phone rang as I was getting ready for one of my best friends’ wedding (sharing a hotel room with my parents :/). I heard Brett's voice for the first time -- calm, confident, sexy. He asked if I could get together the following week for a mezcal tasting at Mission Tacqueria (which I may have led him to believe I knew something about on my Bumble profile). I played it cool and told him I'd check my calendar; it took all my will power to wait until Monday to say yes. Brett: Before heading to Mission Tacqueria, I called up Lois Lust, my (fairy?) Godmother, mom's best friend and OB/GYN who had been there in 1987 for my emergency home delivery (long story). Living on Jess's side of the 9-1-4, Lois also happened to be our only mutual contact. With her assurance that Jess was "great," Lois -- thirty years later -- delivered me to the love of my life. Jess: Brett is not a walker. Nonetheless, he walked me across the city to my apartment which was only a few blocks from his own and, ambiguously, hugged me goodnight. I called my mom immediately to let her know this was "a thing." Brett: I texted Jess at 6:00 am the next morning. I couldn't wait to see her again. Hopefully Jess was too excited to be weirded out and did not realize that that was mid-morning in my resident schedule. On our second date, we picnicked along Boathouse Row where we had our first kiss, went swimming, ate sushi, and eight hours later I dropped Jess at the train station to go to New York for July 4th. A girl who loves Sushi and frequent trips to New York? The One. JETT: We fell in love that day, and since then we have built a life and home together in Phila, with the love and support of all our friends and family. So for all of you who have been promising to visit because you’ve heard Phila's food scene is "so underrated," here's your chance! We are so excited to welcome you here to celebrate our wedding! #JETTsetters
