Devin and Jetta's story began in High School, when Devin moved to Twin Cedars to begin their sophomore year. The first thing Jetta noticed about Devin, as the new kid, was his stylish sneakers and floppy hair. Devin remembers noticing her quiet personality and pretty smile. Although they began messaging almost instantly, after Jetta found an excuse to start the conversation by asking about their class homecoming float. They didn't really chat in person until a few months later around Christmas break, when Devin met her at her car and admitted he kinda liked her and she said she kinda, sorta liked him too. It was another couple months before their first date at Wilson's Corner on Devin's birthday, where they met to take the tiniest bites of French fries and nervously joked back and forth before Devin's basketball game. Things became "official" not too long after, in March of 2020, a day before the world shut down for Corona virus, when Devin asked her to be his girlfriend. Just over five years later things became "officially official' or "really official" when Devin got down on one knee and asked Jetta to spend the rest of their lives together at the DesMoines Art Center, where she of course said yes! Although lots of things have changed about that floppy-haired boy and shy girl, one thing has stayed the same. Whether it's dates at Wilson's Corner or meals in their own home, they're both still happiest where the other is sitting across from them at the table. And since they're not too busy playing or watching each other on the court or field, they're happy to catch a movie, go to the orchestra, walk their dog and cats, shop, garden, play cards, or even clean the house, as long as they're doing it together. They can't wait to make things "really, really official" this June, surrounded by all of their favorite people and grow old together just as they've grown up together.
