Go for a walk in the city center: Una Passeggiata
Passeggiata - is basically a leisurely walk. It's typically in the evening but we're essentially just recommending a walk here. San Marino City is a walkable city, small, with plenty to admire, including 3 different castles. It's also located atop a mountain so the panorama is beautiful from this vantage point as well.
Galleria Borgo (uscita monte)
Historical site. Refugees during World War II camped here for safety. The families were given numbered locations within the old train tunnel where they could stay. You can still see some signs of this on the tunnel walls.
Orti Borghesi
A small park with some incredible views. Peaceful place, and it's a nice walk through the city center to get here.
Giulietti Km0 - Bar
A local bar in San Marino Citta. Jess and I go here often when we go back. I met her Dad and a lot of her friends for the 1st time here for aperitivo. They also have breakfast and coffee options.
La Bettola - Local dive bar
A semi-hidden local dive bar. This is located in the center of Borgo Maggiore (just below San Marino City). Good place for a beer and they have some good pub fare food.
Costa dell'Arnella - Walk
Steep but beautiful walk between San Marino Citta and Borgo Maggiore Centro. On the Borgo side, it starts right where La Bettola is (bar recommendation on this page).
Cooperativa Culturale "Il Macello" - Dive Bar
Super dive bar that sometimes has live music. The bar is built into a cave and you can hang out front. Cheap drinks and nice people. The guy in the picture is our friend Paz playing here. They're not always open. Check their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/coop.il.macello/
Hostaria Da Lino
A very good restaurant in Borgo Maggiore where you can find a variety of local dishes and pizza. A great example of food from this region of Italy (Romagna). It also happens to be owned by the family of Jess' friend Enri
Ritrovo Dei Lavoratori XXVIII Luglio
A well known local restaurant in San Marino Citta. Not much to say about it, but if the locals go there it's probably good. Try for yourself.
