Of course! We can’t imagine the day without a wild group of little ones roaming around the meadows. That being said, please be considerate of other guests who might be more inclined for a quiet convo, and be aware that there is no fence surrounding the meadows.
If you haven't done it yet, do it!
If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes. If not, we would prefer if it was just you. Please be in touch with us if you have any questions about bringing a date.
Eugene airport will be the closest. It's about 20 minutes northwest of downtown Eugene, or 10-15 minutes from our house. Uber and Lyft run through the airport, although if your flight lands after midnight you might have to get a cab (we found this out firsthand). If you are traveling from across the country and are shopping around airfare, check out flights landing in Medford, OR (southern most airport in the state) or Portland, OR (northern most airport); you would need to rent a car in either scenario as they would require a ~3 hour or ~2 hour drive, respectively. If you find cheaper airfare into Seattle or Portland, you can also consider bringing the train down to Eugene (https://www.amtrakcascades.com/).
There are a number of hotel/motel and Airbnb/VRBO options in the Eugene and Springfield areas. There will also be camping available at The Meadows, and folks in town might be able to offer up spare bedrooms. If interested in either of the latter options, please contact us :) Please note that UO graduation will be the same week as our wedding, and various track & field events come through town in the summer. So book early and let us know if you have any questions about areas of town.
There is ample parking available, though we do encourage you to carpool!
That’s up to you and the other guests! We're going a little unconventional for our wedding and having the meal FIRST, from 3:30-5:00ish. If you are interested in attending, we’re asking our community to bring a dish (one per household) to share, potluck style. Don’t worry about being fancy (unless you want to!) or making enough to serve everyone— we suggest making a dish with a serving size of 4-8, and ideally something that can sit out for a while :) We are supplying drinks and dessert! So think entreé! The bride and groom prefer vegan food for themselves, but will be happiest if you make something you enjoy and are excited to make!
There are some special moments after the ceremony we're really looking forward to sharing with you! Cocktail Hour 6:00-7:00 Dance Lesson for the Dance Curious 6:30-7:00 (optional) Toasts and Cupcakes 7:00-7:30 Dance Card Songs 7:00-8:00 Unstructured Fun/Dance 8:00 onwards.
In days of old, when you put on your chiffon ballgown and headed to the dance, you would have a dance card where you could, in essence, "schedule" your dance partners, thus ensuring you wouldn't be labeled a wallflower. — Added bonus: You could keep it as a momento saltare! We have specially chosen ten songs and the cards will have ten slots which describe the style of song/dance (titles will be kept a secret!) so you can choose your partner accordingly. We encourage you to mix and mingle! For the dance curious, there will be a brief (30 minutes) dance lesson during the Cocktail Hour to learn some basic partner moves.
Over a game of cards at Sam Bond's Garage in Eugene, OR.
