Our first date was in April 2016, and as with any "online dating" experience, we met in a public place to take our dogs hiking together. As we hiked along the Deschutes River, Maya was running around (as usual) and got caught in someone's fishing line. At the first yelp, Jonathan leaped into action with his trusty pocket knife, cutting her loose! Needless to say Jessie was impressed with his quick action and care for his furry friend, so the date continued to tacos at Parilla! Two days later there was a second hiking date, this time to Blue Pool. This was the first time Jessie was in Verbil the Van, and questioned its abilities as they chugged over the pass. But this quick easy 4 mile hike turned into a 14 mile day as they decided to just keep going, they were having so much fun! Several months later, they had their first camping trip, out of the Subaru, as the van was broken :( This would be the first of many camping trips, many of which have taken them to Hart Mountain, and instilled their love of this spot. Several years later they took a month for an epic road trip along the Canadian Ski Highway. A month in a camper, in winter... it must be true love! And this year they purchased their first home together, creating Flying Double J Ranch! And now... Now we will get married, and look forward to sharing our special place with all the special people in our lives!
