Question

What is the wedding attire?

Answer

We would consider this to be a classic mountain wedding, formal but also a laid back summer wedding. Please note although it is August, once the sun sets, it cools down quite a bit and most people will want some sort of jacket. For the women, Jessie would recommend sandals, flats, wedges, or block heels. The venue is outdoors in the grass and underneath the tent is large woodchips.

Question

Where should we stay in Seattle?

Answer

Please see our other tab regarding things to do for areas in Seattle to stay!

Question

What activities should we do in Seattle?

Answer

So many things to do! -An absolute must is Pike's Place Market. Yes, they do throw fish, but did you know it was originally done to make their jobs easier? The workers were tired of walking back and forth from in front of and behind the counter to help customers with their fish selections. Must check out Rachel's Ginger Beer in Post Alley, Pike Place Market Chowder (the best you've ever had, promise). -Space Needle/Chihuly Glass Garden: only recommend going up on a clear day! If so, you can easily see Mt. Rainier, Mt. Baker, and many of the peaks throughout the Olympic Peninsula. -Mariner's game: watch a baseball game at TMOBILE field, highly recommend taking the light rail to the Stadium stop -Nordstrom: Flagship Nordstrom store is in downtown Seattle with an entrance attached to the Westlake light rail stop. Jessie denies frequenting the store when she took the light rail to work for her old job.

Question

What activities should we do in Seattle? (cont'd)

Answer

-Take the ferry to Bainbridge Island. Enjoy the view of the Seattle skyline. If you don't take a car you can easily walk to restaurants and Fletcher Bay winery tasting room. -Starbucks Reserve Roastery: located in Capitol Hill, stop in for speciality coffee drinks (not your average Starbucks), boozy beverages, and many food options. -Fremont/Ballard: check out this area for many different breweries

Question

Do I need a car in Seattle?

Answer

While you certainly need a rental car to get out to the wedding venue, you don't absolutely need a car in Seattle. We take the light rail regularly, in fact Jessie took it daily for her commute to her previous job, as it runs from the Sea-Tac airport all the way to University of Washington. Would definitely NOT recommend driving into downtown to visit the Market or other places as parking is $$$$ and difficult to find. If you're not renting a car right away from the airport, would highly recommend taking the light rail as close to your accommodation and taking Uber/Lyft from the light rail stop to save you $50.

For all the days along the way
