Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

All wedding-day events are planned for the outdoors, but in the case of inclement weather, activities will be moved inside the Hill Center Building.

Answer

Yes, all events on the day of the wedding will be held at one location, the Hill Center at the Old Naval Hospital.

Will there be any other events leading up to the wedding day?

Answer

Yes! And we will keep you informed through text messaging about those details, so don't forget to send your phone number when you RSVP!

What's the best way to get around DC?

Answer

DC is very accessible using the Metro system (tap on and off with any card/phone payment) and using Uber/Lyft. If you are unfamiliar with DC, driving can be a nightmare. So unless you plan to venture outside the district, we would advise against renting a car.

Where is the best place to stay?

Answer

We have chosen a few hotel blocks in DC's Navy Yard for a few reasons (see the Travel & Stay section). There are plenty of easily-accessible spots in the area, it's easy to get to the Metro, and it's close to our home and the venue. This will make meeting up rather simple. Navy Yard is also an easy trip to the National Mall, whether you are using Uber or the Metro. So you will be able to venture out to many of the places you might want to visit while you are here! Navy Yard is located on the Anacostia River, is walking distance to the Nationals baseball stadium and DC United's Audi Field, and near many restaurants, bars, and a lovely board walk. 🏠 If AirBnB is your style and you want to be near us (we have food options and Metro very close as well), search the options using our address: 942 14th St SE Washington, DC 20003 But DC offers many great neighborhoods, so stay where you are most comfortable and reach out if you have transportation questions.

What does my food selection mean and why was it optional?

Answer

Great question! To keep things in the spirit of a garden party, we're doing food trucks in lieu of a formal, seated dinner. Each person will have the choice between two food trucks - one specializing in sliders and the other in tacos. Each food truck will offer vegetarian and side dish options, and should be able to accommodate any common food allergies (but if you have a specific allergy that we need to be aware of, please let us know!). We're not going to hold you to your answer, especially since we know cravings can change within an hour let alone 4-6 months, but having a general idea of people's preferences will help us ensure we have enough food without creating too much waste.
