Travel & Booking

Thailand is a long journey for many of our guests, so we highly recommend making a trip out of it! Rather than flying straight through, we suggest arriving in Bangkok (BKK) a day or two early to adjust to the time difference, explore the city, and ease into vacation mode before heading to Koh Samui. From Bangkok (BKK), you'll take a short, direct flight to Koh Samui (USM) on Bangkok Airways, which operates frequent daily service between the two destinations. Airport Transfers Koh Samui Airport is a 15-minute drive from Anantara Bophut. Taxis are readily available upon arrival, and the hotel can also arrange airport transfers for you. To schedule a car pickup through Anantara Bophut, email Jee at suthida_st@anantara.com Passports & Visas Please ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates. U.S. passport holders do not need a visa for short tourist stays in Thailand. Guests traveling on other passports should check entry requirements in advance.

Bangkok Hotels

Bangkok Hotel Recommendations If you're planning to spend a few days in Bangkok before heading to Koh Samui, we recommend staying along Sukhumvit Road, ideally between the Asok BTS and Phrom Phong BTS stations. This area is centrally located, easy to navigate, and filled with great restaurants, shopping, and nightlife. The hotels below are all well known, comfortable, and located in very safe areas. Expect rates to range from approximately $125–$225 USD per night, depending on the season and room type. Phrom Phong Area Carlton Hotel Bangkok Sukhumvit Radisson Blu Plaza Bangkok Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen's Park Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok SKYVIEW Hotel Bangkok Asok Area The Westin Grande Sukhumvit Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit Grande Centre Point Terminal 21 For those seeking more luxury The Phloen Chit area is home to some of Bangkok's most luxurious hotels and is easily accessible by BTS Skytrain. While traffic can be a bit less convenient than the Asok and Phrom Phong areas, it's an excellent option for those looking for a more upscale experience. One Area We'd Avoid We generally recommend avoiding the Nana area for accommodations. While it's popular with tourists, it's not the part of Bangkok we'd personally suggest for first time visitors.
