Jessica: I started working at a pizza place where I was a cashier and Rafael was the cute delivery driver that had worked there forever. He was very charming and funny, we flirted in-between his deliveries. One day, he messaged me saying that he had gotten my phone number off of the employee phone list and hoped that was okay. It was very sweet how nervous he was at first. Our first few dates were awkward, and later Rafael admitted he wasn't going to invite me on another date, but thankfully I invited him to breakfast, and thankfully he said yes! After that, it was rare for us to be apart. Rafael: It was Fall 2012 and I had been working at this pizza place for a while. The boss was…ok, so we had a decent amount of turnover, which meant we saw lots of new faces fairly often. I remember walking back into the shop and seeing Jessica for the first time, “glistening” in the hot pizza shop and training on the phones. Little did I know that she would be the one that would hold my heart forever. It took a couple of weeks to get to know her since our shifts didn’t exactly match up. Even then, slowly but surely we started gravitating towards each other while work was slow. However, some of the other drivers had expressed an interest in Jessica, and we all found out she was single. The next shift after that, I grabbed Jessica’s phone number off the “employee clipboard” and made up some work reason to text her. We went on a few dates, some of which were pretty weird thanks to her roommate. To be honest, these dates were pretty medium, so I was having second thoughts. One night, after having a few drinks, I convinced my friend Chloe to stop by my work and “see my friend Jessica.” I walk in and hear my favorite song at the time [Home-Edward Sharpe] and find out Jessica’s iPod is playing. It wasn’t a hugely popular song at the time, but I was so smitten I convinced her to come to the closet where they keep all the flour and kissed her beautiful face. The rest is history!
