Our go-to "local" Mexican restaurant—and the place we went the night we got engaged! Blue Goose is one of our favorite date-night spots, especially on Thursdays for the $3 margaritas and queso.
One of the more “touristy” spots we love, but it’s popular for a reason! We like to order both burgers from the “Battle of the Burgers” menu and split them so we can enjoy a bit of each. And don’t forget the sweet potato fries (they’re the best)!
On a nice sunny day, you can usually find us walking the trail along the Trinity River. And if I’m not there to slow him down, you’ll find Nate running the trail along the Trinity River instead (lol)!
Nate spent eight months working at this Chick-fil-A before heading off to the Navy! Ask him about it, and he’ll tell you it’s the best Chick-fil-A in all of Fort Worth—and it’s freshly remodeled!
Probably the only sport that we can somewhat play at the same level, although Nate is still way better. You can hop on a court for free at Monticello Park or turn it into a full date with food and drinks at Courtside Kitchen. Either way, you can't go wrong!
Sushi is a touchy subject for us... it's Nate’s favorite and my least favorite. Thankfully, Saikou is our perfect middle ground: sushi for him, ramen for me, Saikou fries for both of us! (It’s also the first place Nate wanted to go after his colonoscopy and the last place he went before leaving for the Navy…)
The first time we hiked together, I totally freaked out over the bugs—but the views at the top made up for it. Ever since, that hike has been an ongoing joke between Nate and me. Nate actually loves trail running, so much so that he completed a 100K trail race!
Skip the menu and trust us: bring a plus-one and order two large patty melt meals (both with root beer) and four extra creamy pepper sauces. You can thank us later.
If you know Nate, you know he LOVES escape rooms. Whenever we're bored and trying to figure out what to do, without fail, Nate’s first suggestion is always an escape room.
Our favorite place for a sweet treat! Curly’s has been a staple post-dinner spot for us, whether we’re grabbing a frozen custard loaded with toppings or a classic root beer float.
