Our story began like many others… through mutual friends! Jess had a connection to two women she worked with, and eventually lived with, whom I also knew through church. It was from this shared circle that I was introduced to Jess—a quirky nurse with a bold sense of humor and a passion for loving others well. When Jess moved from Dallas to Fort Worth to be closer to work, I started seeing her more and more as we began to hang out in the same friend group. After months of friendship and countless shared memories, I can pinpoint the exact moment my heart fell in love with Jess’s charm and wit. It was one evening in the Fort Worth Stockyards when Jess and I found ourselves talking to each other for hours on end while our friends laughed and talked around us. After that night, I knew I wanted to pursue her. A few weeks later, we were headed to dinner at Mesero for our first date. There was a sense of ease and belonging that night, as if we were always meant to be together. A week after our first date, we were officially inseparable. The year that followed was filled with walks around the neighborhood, late-night conversations, TV shows, ice cream runs, Lord of the Rings movie marathons, and countless laughs. Every moment together was spent falling more and more in love with one another. It didn’t take long for me to realize that my heart was set on a lifetime with Jess. On September 6, 2025, I asked Jess to marry me. Probably the greatest and most important question I will ever ask. And she said yes! Through seasons of change, time apart, and many miles traveled to be together after I joined the Navy and moved away for flight school, our love has remained constant. And now, as we get closer and closer to May 27, 2027, we cannot wait to begin our lives as one. We are honored and encouraged to have so many friends and family to celebrate our special day and to hold close as we continue to walk into whatever the future holds for the Mulkeys. From Fort Worth to wherever the Lord takes us, we are grateful to always have each other, and y’all, to support us every step of the way!
