This is the park that tends to be the most crowded out of all the parks. The best way to avoid the crowds are: Visit during extra magic hours if you are staying in a Disney resort (these can be found by checking what the park hours are for the day-it will let you know which days have resort guest only hours). Do the early morning experience (this is a reservation experience that includes breakfast and early access to select attractions). For standard access it is best to go first thing in the morning or as late as possible in the evening. Both of these times have reduced crowds although last thing in the evening is very much the least crowded time of day.
Since I (Jessica) have already had this question asked to me by multiple guests I figured I would answer it here. There is no "best" park. Which park is best completely depends on what you have the most fun doing. While I do very much enjoy Magic Kingdom as well as Hollywood Studios (Magic Kingdom is the "best" for roller coasters in my opinion and Hollywood Studios is the "best" for apparel shopping) my favorite parks to spend time in are EPCOT and Animal Kingdom. EPCOT is the "best" in my opinion because of the world showcase. There is amazing food, incredible people from all around the world to interact with, and some incredibly unique shopping (as well as fun attractions). Animal Kingdom is the "best" if you enjoy meandering and looking at Animals. There is also some great food (Yak and Yeti is one of my favorite restaurants) and very fun attractions (check out the Avatar area in particular) but the animals as well as getting to see African dancing are the most unique!
The two character breakfasts that I think are the most fun are the one at the Polynesian Resort and the one at the Beach Club Resort. Out of those two the one at Cape May Café at the Beach Club Resort is my favorite. You can eat at the buffett or order directly from the menu while watching Chip and Dale get up to creativity while Pluto, Mickey, Goofy, and Minnie come over to visit.
There is no need to rent a car if you intend to stay on Disney property the entire time. Take the Magical Express from the airport directly onto property. Then once on Disney World property transportation is by walking, bus, boat, monorail, or sky tram depending on where you are going. If you run into confusion on how to get to a destination there is always someone available to answer questions at the concierge desk (resort) or the guest services desk (park).
