Wedding Party

Meet our family and friends who have been there with us since the beginning of our relationship and who will be standing by our side on our wedding day!

My-Oanh Nguyen

Maid of Honor

Jessica and My-Oanh met in pharmacy school and became roommates. They shared many many laughs together and also many tears. Strong friendships are bonded by trauma. Their trauma was completing a doctorate degree together while exceeding in leadership roles and having a fulfilling social life—emphasis on social life. Since graduating, both have moved around the US, pursuing their dream careers. Despite the distance they have nurtured their friendship through travel and the constant exchange of tiktoks. My-Oanh is so happy to see Jessica find her person. Mark is fun and romantic— a perfect fit for Jessica. My-Oanh can’t wait to be part of their big day as Jessica’s Maid of Honor.

Omar Hernandez

Best Man

Mark and Omar met in the summer of 2005. Mark somehow convinced Omar that running long distance in the Arizona heat was fun and the two have been best buds ever since. Despite going to college on opposite parts of the country the two stayed in touch through the years and reunited back in Tucson. Nowadays you can catch Mark and Omar on Thursdays at kickball or on the golf course trying not to lose too many balls. Omar can’t wait for these two to get married and give his best man speech, so be ready to shed a tear.

Ashley Phyu

Maid of Honor

Ashley first met the bride back in November of 1995 when she was brought home from the hospital, and Jessica told their parents to “take her back.” Luckily for Ashley, her parents denied the request, and the two sisters proceeded to live together for the next 14 years until Jess went off to college. Despite all this time together, Ash and Jess couldn’t have grown up to be any more different. Hence, they got matching sister tattoos meaning “same blood, different people” (sorry mom and dad)! But they do share some similarities: a love for travel, a weakness for animals, a desire to try new foods & cocktails, an addiction to online shopping, and, after May 2023, a doctorate degree in Pharmacy. Although these two haven’t lived in the same household in over 10 years, they’re closer than ever, and Ashley can’t wait to be one of her big sister’s maids of honor.

Michael Murphy

Best Man

Murph met Mark during undergrad at the University of Arizona. To this day, they are each other’s partner in crime for all the shenanigans they come up with. They share a love of golf, cigars, and old fashions. Now Murph is the dedicated third wheel on most of Jessica’s and Mark’s dates. Whenever they have something planned in Phoenix, he is always there. Even if he isn’t told where they are going, he still knows cause he tracks Mark’s location. He can’t wait for the big day & is making sure he has a box of tissues ready.

Brittany Woodward

Matron of Honor

Jessica met Brittany in 6th grade at St. Luke’s Catholic School. Both sitting in their school uniforms, being the new girls in class, they clicked right away and have been best friends ever since. During the summers, they both flew to New York together to visit Jessica’s family (and some of Brittany’s). They did what they do best together- shopping, laughing, eating, and talking. To this day, not much has changed. Jessica and Brittany have been through life’s biggest moments together & Brittany can’t wait to watch her and Mark say “I do!”

Michael Stanley

Groomsman

Michael met Mark at the University of Arizona and quickly became good friends. A typical Molera and Stan mess around consisted of playing (losing) blackjack at Casino del Sol and riding their bicycles throughout the streets of Tucson. Present day, the two enjoy golfing together and sucking down some adult sodas. Michael is extremely happy for Mark and Jess and ready to party the night away.

Tiffany Uhlyar

Bridesmaid

Tiffany and Jessica actually met in the Pre-Pharmacy club during undergrad at Nova Southeastern University but did not become best friends until pharmacy school. Through their involvement in PLS, being plus-ones to various Yelp Elite events, and celebratory end of rotation dinners the friendship blossomed quickly. After Pharmacy School Tiffany and Jessica both pursued two years of residency and through the vigor and demand of their programs the two remained each other’s rocks and their friendship stayed stronger than ever. Together they have traveled all over, from pharmacy conferences to their annual birthday trips and now both bachelorette parties, the memories are endless. They’ve always dreamt of this day, finding and marrying the loves of their lives, who have also become great friends. Here’s to a lifetime more, with husbands and future babies in tow!

Alexander Mahan

Groomsman

Alex started out as an outsider for the bromance between Mr Molera and Mr Murphy. But Mark quickly welcomed him in for his shared love of UA basketball, golf, and Deadmau5. After leaving Tucson, their friendship continued to grow through boys golf outings and general shenanigans with the Tucson crew. He is beyond excited that Mark found someone as amazing as Jess and can’t wait to see what love has in store for the beautiful couple.

Samantha Anguera

Bridesmaid

“I saw Jessica driving a white Mercedes SUV so I bought a white Mercedes SUV.” Just kidding but not really. Jess & Sam first bonded over their love of everything fancy/bougie during p1 year in pharmacy school. Sam felt an instant connection with Jess and in their squad her & Jess are probably the most similar. Over the course of those 4 years in pharmacy school, they became very close and would often talk about how it would be in the future when they get married, have kids, etc. When Jess moved to Orlando Sam panicked that Jess would fall in love with someone there and they would lose her. Sam told herself it was ok because it’s a perfect excuse for their future children to visit Disney together. Then Jess decided to take her talents to Arizona. Again, Sam panicked that about the idea of Jess meeting someone and staying there forever. However, when Sam talked to Jessica on the phone after her first date with Mark & after meeting him for the first time at their favorite restaurant, Sam had no panic at all. She saw that the two were perfect for each other and Jess was the happiest she had seen. Sam is so excited to be a part of their wedding and celebrate their love.

Zachary Emel

Groomsman

In 2015 Zach was a young doctor right out of Oklahoma State College of Osteopathic Medicine when he moved to Tucson for his psychiatry residency at Banner/ University of Arizona.  It was not long after that he met Omar Hernandez at coed adult kickball.  Omar and Zach quickly became the best of friends. Omar did his best to keep Mark and Zach separated knowing full and well that if they ever did, they would push each other further and further down the rabbit hole of sports gambling like 2 young puppies escaping the back yard for their first adventure.  Fortunately, one fateful evening about 4 years ago Omar had his guard down and Zach met Mark at the Red Garter Bar during the NBA season.  While the topic of conversation was initially sports betting, a true friendship was formed.  As we age, it is not often that we have opportunities to make new lifelong friendships, something so rare in the world.  This is something that Mark and Zach have truly achieved. He can’t wait for Mark and Jess to become husband and wife!

Sarvin Khorram

Bridesmaid

Sarvin met Jessica in pharmacy school 10 years ago. Before they officially became friends and started sitting together (squad’ed up), she sat a row in front of Jessica in class and knew instantly that they would be friends one day. Fast forward a decade later, Jessica and Sarvin have survived all nighters together, graduated pharmacy school, traveled domestically and internationally (from the swamps of New Orleans to go-karting down the streets of Tokyo in pouring rain), supported and leaned on one another through all the ups and downs of life, love, and their careers. As you can imagine, Sarvin wasn’t too thrilled when Jessica moved to Arizona at first since that meant she was too far away but, she figured it was just temporary. Then Jessica met Mark. Sarvin thought, “if he’s going to be the reason she stays there longer, he better be her husband!” So in a way you could say Sarvin manifested this wedding…just kidding, but she sure is happy and excited for Jessica and Mark and cannot wait to be a part of their wedding day and celebrate their love!

Brent Bartholomew

Groomsman

Jessica and Brent became friends when they met during their first year of pharmacy school. Jessica was a social butterfly who people flocked towards and befriended easily. She adopted socially anxious Brent as a friend and helped him break out of his shell. Coincidentally, they both ended up residing in Arizona where Brent became friends with Mark when he entered the scene and swept Jessica off her feet. Brent can't wait to witness his friends tie the knot on their big day.

Laura Taylor

Bridesmaid

Laura and Jessica met in pharmacy school but their love started at Yelp events (forever +1, sorry Mark!) which probably started their love for all things tapas and tastings! Whether they’re drinking their way through Vegas or buttoning up for a professional event, it’s always an adventure when these two get together! Laura is a fiercely loyal friend who has and always will have Jessica’s back, which is why of course she’s by her side for the big day. The real adventure is just beginning! Now let’s get these two married so they can give Lucas + Lyla some besties! 🤪

Jose Luis Munoz

Groomsman

Mark and José were first introduced in Summer 2006, when they became teammates on the Rio Rico cross country team. Mark was an ambitious,  driven, clumsy, lengthy senior - and I would soon find out - a truly remarkable teammate, that would turn friendship into brotherhood. Their friendship grew as they ran hundreds of miles through the Rio Rico mountains - developed a special bond that can only be forged through 100+ degree runs. Mark was a senior when José was a freshman, and he really took José under his wing. Their first year as teammates, the team won a state championship title! Mark set the bar high, and inspired José to later go on to break Mark’s school records. José is so grateful to run alongside Mark on the greater journey of life - for all the ascents and descents. Life is an ultramarathon and José wouldn’t want to miss this moment! He is so happy for Mark and can’t wait to see the two become husband and wife!

Han Le

Bridesmaid

Han met Jess during residency at AdventHealth Orlando. She was thrilled to find out Jess was a fellow Elite Yelper and they instantly bonded over their love for food. Becoming friends with Jess was a no brainer, she is genuinely kind and incredibly fun to be around, except the one time she made Han do HIIT exercises with her. It wasn’t long before they became each other’s therapist, cheerleader, fashion consultant (mostly Han), and event planner (mostly Jess!). Their bond shows friendship is not measured by time or proximity, but who came and never left your side. Han is so grateful to have Jess as a friend for life and cannot wait to celebrate with her and Mark on their special day!

Michael Faircloth

Groomsman

It started as a mutual friendship in 2013, but quickly evolved into friendship later that year thanks to close friends and Cross Country teammates in high school who helped make that happen. Over the last few years Michael and Mark have grown closer than ever after many nights out with friends, shared interest in sports, occasional travel, rounds of golf…..sometimes with much needed coaching from Mark, and countless times of playing and cuddling with Mark & Jess’s dogs Leia and Kane, earning Michael the nickname “Uncle Mike🐾. How their friendship began and grew over the years also showcases how the camaraderie in track & cross country is not just limited to those years of competition, it’s something that can last for a lifetime. Michael is excited for Mark & Jess to be married & can’t wait to celebrate with them.

Harper Wolf

Flower Girl

Harper is Mark’s niece. She loves anything that is light pink and Paw Patrol. When Harper isn’t being too shy she loves to color, do puzzles, and play with her Uncle Marky and Jess. She’s excited to be part of the wedding day as she gains a new auntie. As a flower girl she’ll be decorating that aisle for Jessica to walk down.

Jonathan MacGregor Jr

Ring Bearer

Jonathan Jr is also known as “chunks” by his family. This cutie is super excited to be the ring bearer! How does he know our bride and groom, you ask? Although JJ may look like Mark, he is Jessica’s littlest cousin. He is ready to make sure that the bride’s day is filled with excitement because it’s never a dull moment with him around!

Madison Stanley

Flower Girl

Madison is the two-year-old daughter of Michael and Morgan Stanley, friends of the bride and groom. Some of Madison’s favorite activities include swinging at the park, eating ice cream, riding her bike, and playing dress-up with tutus and tiaras. She is a lover of all things “neigh neigh” and has requested that her mom and dad save money to buy her a horse. You can expect to see her twirling on the dance floor all night long.

Barrett Woodward

Ring Bearer

Barrett has known the bride and groom for his entire life! Jessica and Mark met Barrett when he was just a few days old from the hospital. Barrett attended their engagement party so now he is completely ready and prepared to bring their rings down the wedding aisle!
