Kevin's Version: On the night of our first date I arrived to the restaurant before Jess. I was waiting at a table, and scrolling on my phone while making sure I didn't miss a text from my tardy date; I waited for something of the tune of her having trouble finding a parking spot. I was a bit unobservant as my date sat across from me, without me noticing. She waved her hand in between my phone and my face and said with a hand outstretched "Hi, I'm Jess. I'm gonna go to the bathroom." I sat there, quite stunned, and as she walked away I thought to myself this girl is either really rude or a lot of fun. Here we are four years later, so either Jess is fun or I'm just a glutton for punishment. Jess's Version: Kevin and I met in true millennial fashion, on a dating app. Not just any dating app but Tinder. I had recently moved to Colorado for a rotation at the Colorado Mental Health Institute in Denver and was interested in meeting new people and trying new things when I wound up at US Thai Café on October 12, 2019 with my future husband. It was incredibly easy with us from the very beginning so when it came time for me to move back to Grand Forks for my final semester of Occupational Therapy school we opted to continue our relationship at a distance. Now 4 years, a dog (Jerry) and a cat (Oliver), and 2 cross country moves later and I am so happy that I get to spend my life with the person who makes me the happiest I can be, balances me out, dances with me like no one is watching, and loves me unconditionally for me.
