The Charleston City Market is one of the oldest public markets in America, and it is home to more than 300 local vendors including 50 sweetgrass basket artists. No matter what time of day or season you plan to visit, there is something to see, do, taste, and take home as a souvenir from the Charleston City Market!
The address provided should put you right smack dab in the middle of King Street, in Downtown Charleston. From here you'll be right in front of the historic Francis Marion Hotel, Marion Square and the Embassy Suites Hotel (which is the home of the original Citadel - The Military College of South Carolina). King Street has an abundance of restaurants, bars and stores (local and designer) to choose from. One of our favorite places, to enjoy an awesome bar atmosphere on King Street, is "Stars Rooftop Bar & Grill Room".
Folly Beach, fondly referred to by locals as "the Edge of America", has a combination of rich history, good food, and expansive beaches. Folly Beach is one of the most laid back beaches on the east coast, friendly southern charm + beach town atmosphere...can't beat it. A few places that we enjoy to visit while on Folly include "Taco Boy", the "Lost Dog Cafe", and "Snapper Jacks - Seafood & Raw Bar".
One of the best spots to go to in Charleston, South Carolina is Battery Park. This lovely spot on the waterfront features southern mansions, cannons, cannon balls, oak trees, palmettos, statues, a gazebo, and incredible views of Fort Sumter, Castle Pinckney, and the Sullivan Island Lighthouse. Definitely recommend taking a stroll down the wide walkways at the Battery before leaving town...you won't regret it!
