Things To Do

Frostburg

Frostburg

Frostburg, MD 21532

Welcome to Our Hometown Take some time to explore the place we call home! Stroll up and down Main Street, pop into the local bookstore, or enjoy a delicious meal at Sand Springs—our favorite spot for a date night. Frostburg may be small, but it’s full of charm, warmth, and memories we cherish. We hope you’ll fall in love with it just like we did.

Western Maryland Scenic Railroad

Take a Ride Through Our Love Story Hop aboard a vintage 1940s steam engine and journey through the breathtaking Allegheny Mountains, bursting with fall color. The Western Maryland Scenic Railroad holds a special place in our hearts—one of our very first dates was spent riding the rails from Cumberland to Frostburg, watching the world pass by from our window seat. As the engine chugged along, so did the beginning of our story—filled with laughter, warmth, and the promise of adventures to come.

Swallow Falls State Park

A Walk Through the Woods and Our Memories If you have time during your visit, take a scenic drive west to Oakland, Maryland, where some of the state’s most breathtaking natural beauty awaits. At Swallow Falls State Park, the Youghiogheny River winds through shaded gorges and over smooth rocks, creating peaceful rapids and hidden pockets of tranquility. The crown jewel of the park, Muddy Creek Falls—a stunning 53-foot waterfall—can be admired from a short woodland trail or a longer, more adventurous hike to its base. We spent one of our earliest dates here, wandering under the trees and falling a little more in love with each step.

Paw Paw Tunnel

Paw Paw Tunnel

Oldtown, MD 21555

Step Into History (and a Tunnel!) For those with a sense of adventure, we recommend a visit to the historic Paw Paw Tunnel. Stretching an impressive 3,118 feet through the mountainside, this marvel was built to shorten travel along the C&O Canal—and it’s become one of our favorite hidden gems in Western Maryland. We’ve hiked through the tunnel together more than once, marveling at its craftsmanship and the quiet stillness inside. It’s a unique and memorable spot—just don’t forget to pack a flashlight!
