Meet us in Newport!

Griffin and I both worked at JB&B, he stared in 2019 and I started in 2020. Somehow for my first two years despite working at the same company we managed to not work on any of the same projects, or even run into each other in the pantry but that all changed one spring night in 2022. May 18th, 2022, I decided to take an extra ticket to a work event at the Pierre in NYC with some of my work friends. When I arrived with my friends I discovered at check in that my friends were all sat at table 43 and I somehow got placed at table 27.....the exec table. As I stood there in disbelief, now regretting taking the extra ticket to this event, my dear friend Jen told me "don't worry Griffin will probably be sitting at that table" (since his dad and Uncle were both in attendance that night) to which I replied "Yea well… I don't know that guy" as we both looked at him from across the cocktail hour room. Fast forward to dinner, now being that we were some of the only people under the age of 40 sitting at that table Griffin and I ended up sitting next to each other. We started to chat and found out we had many things in common, one of the biggest, is I had one of his longtime family friends, Cam, as my intern all the way to our love for Newport. We then continued to talk to the whole night, and started what was the beginning of a good.....friendship. Like I said the night we met we simply became friends it would be a long 10 months before we finally went on our first date. In that 10 months Griffin made it painfully obvious he had no intention on just being friends, he complimented almost all of my outfits, bought me many drinks, stayed out way past his bedtime (knowing he had a 2 hour train ride home), stalked my Instagram, volunteered to help with anything I was involved in and managed to convince my manager that me, and only me, had to teach him engineering (even though that was not his job or mine). Yet, despite all of these things he did he still had not ask me out on a date...I though however gathered the courage to confront him about it in February of 2023 and it was history from there. For the next month we went on countless dates, exchanged what felt like a million texts, and then in the late hours on March 4th 2023 at Bleecker Street Pizza, with Donovan as our witness, Griffin officially asked me to be his girlfriend. Two and half years later after we got engaged in the city we live in together over looking the part of Manhattan where it all started. Following the engagement we asked ourselves another big question, where should we get married? For us it was a no brainer, Newport. For those who know us individually know how much Newport means to each of us. Both of us growing up going there spending summers with our family and friends or in griffins case sailing and getting lost. There is no other place we pictured it. This is our favorite place and we can't wait to create the most unforgettable memories with all of you!
