It was a cold snow filled January day when a mutual friend mentioned to Jessica that she knew someone she should meet. That night Jessica and Dave were introduced over a series of heavily filtered Snap Chats, but since they weren't 13 they moved on to actually texting. After a few days they decided to meet in person (sans filters) at Spot Coffee where they talked for a lot longer than either had planned. Not long after they started hanging out. While still unclear on when they officially started dating (Jessica has her version and Dave has his) they are about to embark on the journey as a married couple...with an official date.

The proposal came amidst a crazy weekend of travel, witches, music and little sleep. What started as a weekend trip to NYC for the reopening of Phantom of the Opera turned into a weekend road trip to Salem, NYC, Baltimore and then back to NYC. Dave and Jessica had never been to Salem and since they were going to be in NYC Jessica thought it would be fun to go a day earlier and visit Salem. After 18 hours in the city of witches, they headed to NYC for Phantoms Reopening. Jessica looked beautiful in her dress while Dave was uncomfortably trying to hide a ring box in his very tight khakis. After the show a crazy street party took place outside of the theater and while a good time it didn't seem appropriate for a proposal. The next morning Jessica showed Dave Central Park where he decided to pop the question at John Lennon's Memorial. The two random women nearby were very excited for the newly engaged couple. After a few more hours in the city catching up with a friend of Jessicas, they headed to Baltimore to visit Dave's parents and have Jessica officially meet some of his friends. Then after a few hours of sleep, Dave and Jessica headed back into NYC to see a play (a treat for Dave because he bought Jessica the Phantom tickets). With the final bows of the play done, Jessica hurriedly squeezed a quick trip to K Town in before the two made their way back across the state to good ol Western New York. While a quite memorable weekend was had, Dave has taken a vow to never let Jessica plan a trip again.
