The First Day We Met

08.09.2017

Chase and Jessica met in a Creative Writing class at the University of West Georgia. From Jessica’s perspective: Jessica did not pay any attention to Chase in their creative writing class. However, she enjoyed being paired with him for critiques. This was not because she liked his writing style, no, she liked that Chase never turned in his work on time which ment she never had to read it. Jessica routinely e-mailed her professer to let her know Chase’s work was late and she would not have to read it per the syllabus. She once even e-mailed the professor because his work was posted 12 minutes late. From Chase’s perspective: Chase had noticed Jessica in Creative Writing, but he preferred to keep to himself when in the classroom. He thought she was cute, and even walked her across the campus after class once, but after finding out she was seeing someone at the time, he thought it best to keep his distance. It wasn’t until the next semester that he had the fortune if talking to her again...

We Meet Again

01.13.18

Chase and Jessica met for a second time at a bonfire at the TKE house. From Jessica’s perspective: Jessica’s roomate had started dating the president of Tau Kappa Epsilon in October of 2017 and wanted her roommates to finally meet her boyfriend. Jessica usually was’nt one for staying out late but this particular night she and her ex boyfriend had gotten into a nasty fight for the millionth time. Jessica was over it, so when her roommates asked her to come out with them she agreed. At the party she once again saw Chase, although she didn’t remember his name at the time. He was standing by the fire. Because it was January and Jessica was cold (and didn’t want to third wheel with her roommate and her boyfriend) Jessica stood by the fire and talked to Chase. She was instantly impressed that he had remembered her name. They ended up talking for hours, and he easily won her over. From Chase’s perspective: Chase was sitting at a bonfire at his fraternity house that night when he saw Jessica walk up with her friends and immediately recognized her from their class together. He walked up to her and said hello, surprised to see her there. He could tell she was a bit nervous and didn’t know anyone there, so he introduced her to his friends and spent most of the night talking to her bu the fire. Luckily for him, they hit it off and haven’t gone a day without speaking to each other since.

The Proposal

06.06.2020

Chase originally planned to propose to Jessica in early February of 2020. However, COVID-19 had different plans. Finally, after 4 months of waiting for the ring to be finished, and one 83 day lockdown later he popped the question. Chase proposed to Jessica in June of 2020 on a three night trip to Chateau Elan, a winery in Braselton Georgia. The day he proposed Chase took Jessica to the tasting room at Chateau Elan where they shared a flight of wine. After the tasting they went to dinner at Marc Bar & Restaurant where they had a stunning view of the vineyards. Chase and Jessica shared special memories with eachoth and taked about the good (and bad) times that they had experinced together. They talked about their future dreams and Chase told Jessica that he loves how dedicated she is and how hard she works. It was the perfect night, just how always Jessica imagined it would be. Then Chase got down on one knee and asked Jessica to be his wife. Jessica was so excited that she didn’t even let Chase finish his speech before she started repeating yes, yes, yes!
