Palo Duro Creek Golf Course

Palo Duro Creek Golf Course

50 Country Club Drive, Canyon, TX 79015
, (806) 603-3221

Offers 18 Holes and Ammenities The amenities are nice but the real star of the show at Palo Duro Creek Golf Course is the course design. Palo Duro Creek golf course is an 18-hole regulation course owned by the City of Canyon and is located in the Hunsley Hills addition of Canyon. The course was design by noted CO golf course architect Henry Hughes. The front nine was built in 1959 with holes on both sides of Palo Duro Creek. The back nine was built a few years later and weaves its way through the beautiful residences of Hunsley Hills. PDC is a par-72 course with a variety of tees to play ranging from 5,800 yards to 6,900 yards depending on your ability. The course is a fun, challenging course, with water from the Palo Duro Creek coming into play on 14 of the 18 holes. The course is comprised of Bermuda tees and fairways with bentgrass/poa greens. The Palo Duro Creek golf course is recognized as one of the most playable, yet challenging courses in the TX panhandle.

Palo Duro Zip (Zipline)

Palo Duro Zip (Zipline)

11100 TX-217, Canyon, Texas 79015
, info@palodurozip.com

Beware, it does close temporarily (on the regular) due to high winds (but it does say it will re-open for spring break of 2022 which is in March). We have not had the chance to try this out yet! Description below is from the Doves Rest Resorts website ---> https://www.dovesrestcabins.com/thing-to-do/palo-duro-zip-line-adventure-park/ For years, the Palo Duro Canyon has been about getting people out to the canyon to explore around inside it. But now, a new attraction, separate from the Palo Duro State Park, is less about taking people down in the canyon, and more about soaring over it. Zip, glide, fly – whatever you want to call it – a new zip line is taking riders sky high above the Palo Duro Canyon floor – four hundred sixty-nine feet high to be exact! It is the only zip line between Dallas and New Mexico and it crosses Palo Duro Canyon. The experience starts with a harness and helmet. You take a 15 minute ride down to the zip-line, walk up a suspension bridge and get ready to fly.

Kwahadi Heritage Museum

Kwahadi Heritage Museum

9151 Interstate 40, Amarillo, TX 79118
, (806) 335-3175

Features the artifacts of the Pueblo and Plains Indians, as well as performances by the international-known Kwahadi Dancers. Trip Advisor Review BELOW "Born and raised in Amarillo. Have not lived there for 40+ years but I am very knowledgeable of the Boys Scout Program and Kwahadi Indian Dancers and experienced the dancers many years ago. Visited the Kwahadi Indian Museum for first time while visiting Amarillo with my wife and two of our grandsons (ages 7 and 8) in August 2020. We were not disappointed. Although we only had about 1-1/2 hours to visit before the museum closed, we experienced many artifacts and history regards the Plains and Pueblo Indian Cultures. Admission cost is very reasonable. Parking ample. Volunteers were very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend if one has any interest in Native American Cultures."
