Welcome to Our Beginning

After Jessi moved to Idaho in the fourth grade, both of us were enrolled in Religious Education on Mondays after school. Throughout elementary school, middle school and freshman year of high school we would see each other at RE and in small groups which was run by Jessi's dad. It was not until sophomore year of high school however, when Michael transferred to Compass Academy, the school Jessi attended. There the two of us were able to talk everyday and started dating shortly after on September 16th of 2015.

On January 26th I decided today was the day, after I asked Jessi’s parents over Christmas break for permission to marry her. The day started early in the morning when I went to get Jessi her favorite Starbucks coffee, followed by spending the day in the little town of Moscow. Later, I went and picked up a dozen roses for her I then placed a fake rose in the middle of the flowers, went to the new arboretum at the University of Idaho, and with the help of a few friends I spelled out in the snow “ Jessi will you marry me” in rose petals. I nervously picked her up and gave her the flowers. I told her “when the last petal falls my love for you will die”. Filled with anxiety and excitement I walked her to the special spot I had set up and popped the question.
