How We Met: Jess's Version

3-20-19

Once upon a time spring semester of freshman year, I got stuck in a "Conservation of the Environment" class that was required to graduate with a teaching degree. On the first day of class, I met three girls, and we decided to make a group chat called "Geo Gals" (it was a geography class) to keep up on our homework together. A few days later, we added some other people into our group chat, including a ginger boy, but we kept the group chat name the same and turned the boys into honorary Geo Gals. A month and a half passed, and I had probably a total of two conversations face-to-face with Logan, but we all would text in our group chat during class. Friday, March 8 was International Women's Day and Logan posted a selfie during class that said "shoutout to the women", to which I hilariously said "get off your phone, we're in class". Logan probably said something annoying back, we never stopped Snapchatting, and twelve days later, we were dating.

Logan's Version

3-20-19

Jess and I met our Freshman year in the WORST class ever. It was geography class. I recall adding it to my schedule at the last minute because a few of my friends had taken it, and it fulfilled something on my audit. Anyway, we ended up in a snapchat group chat together which was mostly used to complain about how horrible the class was. A little time passed, and on "National Women's Day" I posted to my story while in class saying something dumb like "go women." Jess then SLID INTO MY DM's and said "get off your phone in class." The rest is history.

Well, I thought that I had self control. That is, until I received the engagement ring. I couldn't wait to ask Jess to marry me. I wanted the engagement to be special, but also not "special for Instagram." I wanted it to just be us. So I decided to take Jess out to one of her favorite restaurants, Culvers, and brought her to Mt. Simon in Eau Claire to ask her to be my wife. Something beautiful about that day was that, throughout the whole day, it had been raining. But once we reached the top of Mt. Simon, the rain stopped just in time for me to ask the love of my life to spend the rest of our lives together. What a beautiful and special moment that was for both of us. No cameras and no one around except us. A beautiful moment that will be cherished forever.
