Best Man
Jesus Cortez, Jr. is Jesse's best brother (and only brother). Jr has been by Jesse's side his whole life and has been such an important part of it. From Chutes and Ladders to Secret of Mana, Jr has been the best Player Two in the world. Jesse is so proud of his younger brother for the man he has become and the family he is raising with Trinity, Alex, and (Baby) Jesse. There is no way Jesse could have been the man he became without Jr's support and love.

Robby and Timothy met as high school freshmen, becoming friends in English class and during rehearsals for the fall play. They went on to do lots more theater together in high school, signed up for Dance 1A for PE credit, and regularly broke curfew on their post-gradution chorus trip to Europe. Junior year of college they both found themselves studying in Madrid, where many more adventures ensued, including a trip to Morocco and becoming regulars at the local showtunes bar. After college, they kept in touch here and there while navigated their 20s, but rekindled a close friendship in 2020 when they had both found their way back to SF. Whether nerding out on public transit, celebrating a Eurovision win, or seeing live theater, they have grown closer as they have both settled into their adult lives.

Bethany and Jesse first met during "Rock of Ages", one of Jesse's favorite theater experiences of all time. As the Wardrobe manager for the show, Bethany was forced to deal with Jesse's insanely sweaty wig...which bonded them. They both share a love of theater, Disney/Marvel properties, and cats. Jesse also served as a groomsman for Bethany's wedding, and infamously drank at every nation at Epcot. He is forever grateful to his "wifey" for her support!

Timothy, along with Robby, met Megan in 2021 at a "House of Vax" party in the Castro, where they became fast friends. In the years since, the trio has strengthened those bonds and grown to six as each found their significant other. Megan holds a special place in Timothy and Jesse's story. One fateful August night, Timothy, Megan, and her partner Sebastien found themselves at Beaux when Jesse walked in. Over the course of the evening, Timothy and Jesse separately shared their feelings towards the other with Megan. She informed Timothy of this in a phone call the next morning and encouraged him to act on it. Timothy and Megan have made many memories exploring SF, the Bay Area, and recently, Paris. Megan has a deep love for animals, which Timothy and Jesse often exploit when they need a cat-sitter for Miss Candi.

Matthew and Jesse first met around 2013 and shared a mutual love of theater. They have been involved in multiple theater shows together. As the Founder and Artistic Director of Bay Area Musicals, Matthew has won many awards for his direction and choreography, and fostered a "Bamily" that lingers long past the final curtain. Jesse is honored to call Matthew a friend who has always been there in the good times and bad.

Will is Timothy's younger brother. While they didn't always get along as kids, they have found that as adults they actually enjoy each other's company. They have many shared interests including travel, the outdoors, music, and theater. Timothy always looks forward to exploring New Orleans's live music venues with Will during the family pilgrimages to Jazz Fest. Will and Timothy are both public servants working in different parts of the affordable housing sector. Timothy is proud that both brothers are engaged in this work and dedicated to making the world a better place.

In 2013, Jesse went to the inaugural Gaymer X, a convention centered around the LGBTQ Gaymer community. It was there at dinner that he sat across from another Jesse--also from Texas, also a gamer, also whiskey enthusiast. For over 10 years, both Jesses have been very close. They lived across the hall from each other during the Pandemic and became their own little bubble. Ever since "the night", Jesse C's life has been so much better for knowing Jesse M. Without Jesse M, Jesse C would not have been able to meet the rest of the "Pigs", our little group of Gaymers, which includes the OG cast of Kevin, Orlando, and Ryan, who are also featured guests of Jesse.

Timothy met Caitlin living in Tulane's Wall College when he was a freshman and she was a sophomore. Timothy and Caitlin helped each other navigate the transition to adulthood and accordingly know where all the skeletons are buried. Over the years they have maintained a deep friendship and regularly return to New Orleans, particularly for Jazz Fest. When Timothy took Jesse to meet her, he realized that he is marrying the male version of Caitlin.

Tim and Jesse met in the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus, when Jesse was looking for a roommate. After a bonding night at Badlands, they became roommates and best friends for more than 7 years. Sharing a love of theater and performing, they even developed a two-man show called "Two Nobodies in SF" which they performed at Martunis, as well as Feinstein's at the Nikko. After years of Friendsgivings, Guardsman Christmas Tree shopping, and late night Marcello's, Tim moved to Detroit where he met his life partner Lincoln. Jesse is so honored to have his former roommate by his side as he marries his own forever roommate.

Molly was actually Jesse's friend first. On a trip to Truckee early in their relationship, Jesse suggested meeting up with her for drinks, as she happened to be in town. Timothy and Molly immediately hit it off and spent the evening largely ignoring their dates. Molly has a free spirit and keen sense of adventure, demonstrated when she hopped on a plane to spend a week in Paris with a new friend. This cemented the friendship between Molly and Timothy. Her participation in Timothy's wedding party is emblematic of the many deep friendships Jesse and Timothy have formed as a couple.

Catherine in one of Timothy's oldest friends, having met, as with Robby, in freshman English class. Timothy and Catherine became inseparable throughout high school, participating in many activities together, including co-founding the Outdoors Club and working on stage crew. Life has lead them to both work in the realm of urban planning, though Timothy plans for their future and Catherine studies their ancient past. They have maintained their friendship through the years even though they now live on separate continents.
