Did you ever wonder if you would end up marrying someone that you already knew? Kelli wondered. And it happened. Jesse and Kelli can't remember when they met. Attending church together at the young ages of 13 and 16, the two were barely aware of each other's existence. Years later through a string of "coincidences," they reconnected after Jesse graduated from Olivet Nazarene University. From coffee dates to family game nights and bonfires, Jesse and Kelli began spending nearly every weekend together, and time seemed to fly as they laughed and talked. Because they both share a passion to see people set free by the redeeming love of Jesus, they both felt called to overseas missions. Despite this similar calling, they were concerned because Jesse felt drawn to China and Kelli felt drawn to Kenya. In God's faithful way, He confirmed to them that He can fulfill the destiny of each one as they partner together. Jesse admires Kelli's bubbly enthusiasm and love for others, while Kelli deeply appreciates Jesse's vulnerable authenticity and loyalty to his family and friends. Jesse asked Kelli to "move forward" (a.k.a. become his girlfriend) on Memorial Day of 2016, and they embarked on the adventure that has brought them to today. Jesse proposed on August 6th in a mosquito-infested forest preserve (not the most romantic atmosphere, but it makes a great story!). They are continuing to learn about one another more, and they are beyond excited to become husband and wife, giving each other their whole lives.
