Minnesota State Fair

Dates: Aug. 22, 2024 – Labor Day, Sept. 2, 2024. Parking: you can just park at the fairgrounds or what we typically do is fine many of the ride share locations and take a Free shuttle, time and energy saver. Being away from Minnesota makes us miss its charms, one being called the Great Minnesota Get Together! The fair is the 2nd largest in the country with over 2 million visitors each year. Fine your fav. deep-fried or on a stick foods somewhere on the fairgrounds, not to mention the butter sculptures, Miracle of Life center, and the sweetest agricultural building!! A few favorite foods: Sweet Martha's Cookies, Fresh $1 all-you-can drink milk, Australian Battered Potatoes, Cheesecake on a stick, elephant ears (sweet bread) and so many more. Buy a $5 Blue Ribbon Bargain Book ahead for extra coupons! Let us know if you want one for out of towners! If you have time to add an extra day to your stay, visit the greatest Minnesota get together!

Minnesota Renaissance Festival

We went here on one of our first outings with the family. Minnesota Renaissance Festival admission tickets will be valid any one festival day of the 2024 season. 2024 Season: Weekends (Sat. & Sun. Minnehaha Falls

Centennial Lakes Park. Paddle boats under stone bridges and Thurs. night Farmers market!

Home to swan paddle boats or regular paddle boats across the lakes and under bridges. Available on a first-come first-served basis from 10 a.m. to sunset daily. Farmer’s market 2024 Season 3-7 p.m. Thursdays June through the first Thursday in October

Big Stone Mini Golf

Really cool! Minnegolf through stone sculptures, stain glass ships etc. Highly recommend if you’re staying more West! Can go Minnetonka Drive in for ‘50s style burgers and malts!
