Flight

Salt Lake City International Airport

SLC is typically the most affordable, Challis is a 4.5-5 hr drive from SLC. Very easy to rent a vehicle and make the drive from here. There are approx. (3) stoplights between the SLC airport and our house.

LOTS and LOTS of options for smaller couples, or larger families. Nice rooms, large cabins, etc. Ask for Wayne and tell him you are with the Zettel-Smith wedding. He has given us special pricing. They have everything from nice single hotel-style rooms, to larger cabin/lodges with multiple rooms and living rooms and kitchenettes. Good for groups or families. Pretty area with patios, to hang out on.

Boise Airport

The next most affordable, but usually more expensive than SLC. And you will most likely sit on the ground in either SLC or Denver, so the fact that it’s a tiny bit closer, doesn’t really make the trip any quicker. Boise is approx. 3.5-4.5 hr drive from Challis. There is a gorgeous mountainous drive through Stanley and the Sawtooths that will get you to us.

Missoula International Airport

This is a nice small airport in Montana, it’s about a 4 hour drive due south through the Bitterroot Mountain range, beautiful drive. Not difficult. Not always the cheapest either, but a fine option.

Pocatello Regional Airport, Idaho Falls Regional Airport or Sun Valley [Friedman Memorial Airport]

These are all smaller airports, but each are about 2.5-3 hr drive from Challis, and you might be able to find decent flights with car rentals.

*More rustic, lots of space… maybe 10+ in sleeping arrangements, including a separate little house attached, with a private entrance. Good for a family or a group of friends. Furnishings are a bit dated, but the owner said he’d give us a great rate. Very affordable. I’ve been inside this as well and can answer a few questions.
