Ajijic is famous for its year-round spring-like climate. With an average annual temperature of around 74°F (24°C), there are no harsh winters or sweltering summers. The lake breeze keeps days warm and mornings/nights comfortably cool. Summer falls during the rainy season, when brief afternoon or evening rains leave behind clear, sunny mornings. Additionally, Ajijic is not in the path of hurricanes like many coastal towns.

Not to worry! I have gut issues too. Here are a few things to keep in mind: Most restaurants in the city or town center are great! I recommend avoiding places in between towns, as they tend to have more Spanish cuisine or may not speak English and might not follow the same standards. Most cafés offer dairy-free milk options if you simply ask. When it comes to meat, I suggest avoiding fish and requesting medium-well or well-done red meat. Some places have gluten-free options, and it’s a good idea to bring along some enzymes as well.
