We met in 2010 working alongside each other in our small town’s crab house- Ships Café. At the time, Jess was a college student, home for the summer and Rob, just a high school student, starting his first job as a bus boy. Although we had been friends for several years, our story didn’t officially begin until March 31st, 2014. The sparks finally flew that year during the Orioles’ Opening Day festivities. Our relationship quickly took off after realizing all our common joys and interests- spending time with family and friends, the Ravens & Orioles, and of course, the beach. Fast forward 8 years later, after a few job changes, several moves and too many amazing memories made to count, we made it officially official and decided on forever.

While 2020 wasn’t exactly what we all had in mind, our year started off with an unexpected yet wonderful bang! While Jess had anticipated a casual vacation to an island in Mexico, Rob had another plan in mind. On January 7th, 2020, we traveled to Isla Mujeres with a small group of friends. That evening, we took a short ride around the island to take in the beauty of our home for the next few days. The group stopped at sunset to take advantage of a great photo opportunity. Jess and Rob walked to the cliff’s edge for a picture when Rob dropped down on one knee for the big question. In total disbelief, Jess enthusiastically and without hesitation said yes. For the remainder of our trip, our loved ones, both present and back home, made sure we felt their love and support.
