Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Jessica Lee Macias and Paul S. John
Staying in town for the weekend and need some ideas on what to do? Here are some recommendations! Please keep in mind that Miami is spread out and public transportation isn't great or readily accessible, especially down South. We recommend renting a car or coordinating with other guests to share an Uber or Lyft to your destinations.
Schnebly Redland's Winery & Brewery

Schnebly Redland's Winery & Brewery

30205 Southwest 217th Avenue, Homestead, FL 33030

Schnebly Winery is the southernmost winery in the United States and offers unique tropical fruit wines made from mango, guava, avocado, lychee and passion fruit. About 20-25 minutes southwest of the venue, the winery features waterfalls, tiki huts, wine tastings, farm to table food, and live music.

Cauley Square Historic Village

Cauley Square Historic Village

22400 Old Dixie Highway, Miami, FL 33170

A historic village and hidden gem in Miami, Cauley Square is home to several small shops, including an antique store, art gallery, restaurant, bookstore, tea room, and salt cave. Cauley Square is about 10 minutes east of the venue. Fun Fact: this was one of our wedding venue options before we decided on The Gardens of Weber Manor.

Zoo Miami

Zoo Miami

12400 Southwest 152nd Street, Miami, FL 33177

Jess loves a good zoo and Zoo Miami is a hit for the kids and adults alike. If you love animals, make sure to check out this spot about 20 minutes north of the venue. We've come here as a family together twice during our trips to Miami.

Matheson Hammock Park & Marina

Matheson Hammock Park & Marina

9610 Old Cutler Road, Coral Gables, FL 33156

Want to hit up a beach, but need some peace from the hustle and bustle of Miami Beach? Check out Matheson Hammock Park and Preserve, a local park about 45 minutes northeast of the venue and 15 minutes east of the Dadeland area. The park features a man-made atoll pool/lagoon surrounded by palm trees and mangroves. We love coming to this spot during our trips down South!

Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden

Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden

10901 Old Cutler Road, Miami, FL 33156

This is a great spot to check out if you want to stroll through tropical gardens in Miami. The gardens are about 40 minutes northeast of the venue and 15 minutes east of Dadeland.

The Falls

The Falls

8888 Southwest 136th Street, Miami, FL 33176

This is an open-air shopping mall about 20-25 minutes northeast of the venue and 15-20 minutes southwest of the Dadeland area. There are several dining options in the area. Some of Jess' favorites are Sokai Sushi Bar, Naked Taco and Bulla Gastrobar.

Biscayne National Park Institute

Biscayne National Park Institute

9700 Southwest 328th Street, Homestead, FL 33033

If you're looking to have a paddling, snorkeling, sailing, kayaking, or boating experience while in Miami, we recommend checking out Biscayne National Park Institute. They offer several experiences from different departure points, including Homestead, Coconut Grove, Deering Estate, and Everglades National Park.
