She was a sassy bartender, he was a smart-ass server. He rang in a drink she didn't like to make, and she told him. So he rang it in a bunch more. And he made sure she made every single one of them. All these years later she still doesn't like the words "Cucumber-Mint-Martini" all strung together.
Five years of adventuring has taken them to: London, Glasgow, Oban, Montreal, New Orleans, Austin, Houston, Milwaukee, Door County, Charleston, Boston, Asheville, Nashville, and beyond. Packer games, US Open, Wimbledon, Astros games, Red Sox games; Countless visits to distilleries and breweries. There's been dozens of firsts on both sides: Kent's first camping trip, Jessy's first jet-ski experience, supporting each other through first marathons, and forcing new food exposure on the other (most of which was delicious).
Kent decided to take it back to the beginning - to the restaurant they met working together, located in the neighborhood they hung out in the most, spending countless hours doing what they love: running, having picnics, watching sunsets, and sharing many laughs together. The Setting: Pier 45, golden hour. He had her believe they had time before her “birthday” dinner to take a walk on the pier. When they reached the middle of the pier, he got down on one knee and popped the question. Following the proposal was dinner at Perry St, sharing the occasion with the crew whom they worked with and saw their relationship bloom over the years. After dinner was a night cap with friends surprising her at Tortilla Flats, their old watering hole near Perry St. “I’m so happy!”, was all she could say the entire night.
