Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Jessica Ivison and Jori Thomson
We're so excited to share some of our favourite places in the area with you. If you're planning to visit the Soo or go up the coast of Lake Superior while you're here, check in with the bride and groom for more recommendations on Ice Cream Shops, Restaurants, and Sights-to-see!

Red House Ice Cream

9172 Trans-Canada Highway, Bruce Mines, ON P0R 1C0, Canada

Check out the Facebook page under 'Red House Ice Cream' for weekly specials! The bride stops here regularly on her way home for a summer after-work treat on her "down the line" days. The groom always says he doesn't want any, and then eats half of Jessie's ice cream. There are several scooped ice cream flavours to choose from, as well as tasty homemade ice cream cones and bars. When in doubt - the Salty Dog never fails to please (it is made of layers of ice cream and butter tart, topped with chocolate and pretzels). Ellen (the shop owner) also makes homemade dairy-free ice cream bars!

The Copper Bean Cafe

9196 Ontario 17, Bruce Mines, ON P0R 1C0, Canada

This is a great little place if you're looking for treats, warm or cold drinks, breakfast or lunch! The bride's go-to drink is a Bruce Mines Fog - basically a tea latte with a blueberry tea made from Georgian Bay blueberries. Also, if Melissa (the cafe owner) has her infamous Dill Pickle Soup on for a lunch special, you can't pass it up!
