Jonny and Jess met the modern way; by swiping right on Tinder in October, 2019! Their first date was that of a fairy tale - Jonny turned up with a puppy (certainly one way to break the ice!), they sat and chatted for hours, and were delighted when the restaurant stayed open for an extra hour so they could spend more time together. Their second date was much the same and it wasn't long before Jonny asked Jess to visit his home and meet a few of his friends - and wasn't that a night to remember! It truly was love at first sight for these two. Fast forward 6 months and Jess was making the move to Cassilis! Jonny knew he had met his forever girl by how easily she fit in to his community, the way she could level a steelie, and you should have seen his face when he first saw her tie off a barb! Now he just needed to save for a diamond, and we all know how often he used that line! Jess was smitten with this rare fencer boy, his kind heart, the way he made her laugh, and how much fun they had together. Some of their favourite memories over the years have been their numerous road trips across the countryside, trips to the beach to go fishing, riding together in the hills of Cassilis, competing in a Spartan competition, and the countless parties and weddings they have attended as a couple. Now 3 years on and we are all preparing to watch this beautiful couple tie the knot. Jonny and Jess's proposal was a bit unique (some may say rare) but it was the most perfect surprise that Jess could have dreamt up. Jonny had attached the ring to Jess's fishing rod hook and asked her to bait it up. When she saw the ring glimmering in the sunset, she turned to find Jonny down on one knee!
