Salinas is a coastal town on the western tip of Ecuador's Santa Elena province. It is known for its popular beaches, like San Lorenzo and Chipipe, which are both hugged by the palm-lined Malecón promenade.
The Salinas Yacht Club cuts the main stretch of coastline in half with a bustling jetty. On the north end is Salinas Beach.
Wakeboarding, water skiing, parasailing, jet skiing, paddle boarding, diving, sailing, and more are available. All of the equipment can be rented right on the beach for a good price.
La Chocolatera – a point named for the way the tempestuous waves break on the rocks, creating foam and the impression of a big bowl of chocolate. La Chocolatera is accessed via the Salinas naval base, so bring ID. It’s a 15-minute taxi ride from Hotel Colón Salinas. There’s also a tourist train that departs from the Malecón and takes you through both La Lobería and La Chocolatera in one trip.
Some guests may choose to extend their trip & take a short plane ride to see the amazing animals & beautiful sights of the Galápagos Islands.
