We eloped!

We met in Portland in late 2016 through friends. Alex was working in a taco truck a couple blocks from Jess' apartment, and she often came during lunch to flirt and buy food. Alex wooed her with his amazing cooking, and really won her over when he dog sat for Jess while she was on business trips. Jess missed Alex so much while traveling for work, they made things official in April 2017.

In early 2025, after 8 years together, we got an opportunity to tie the knot in a really special place - on the tail fin of the Battleship Missouri in Pearl Harbor. Alex has been using his background in WWII history to develop an impressive museum exhibit on the ship. We said our vows during one of several trips to Hawaii for this project, on June 27, 2025.
