Naples is the closest airport. You can also fly into Rome and take a train to Naples or a 3.5 hour car ride to Positano. See our travel page for more details.
Yes! Dress to impress! Black tie means tuxedos for men and long evening gowns for women.
As soon as possible! We were told that Positano is booked with weddings from April through November, so it's important to book your accommodations as soon as possible to ensure your stay. Most hotels do allow cancellations up to a certain date if your plans change.
Yes! We will be hosting a Neapolitan pizza party on Friday evening to welcome you to Italy and get the party started! We are also hosting a boat party the Monday after the wedding to keep the festivities going. Please see our events page for additional updates and RSVP if you haven’t already!
The local Italian hotels are too small to allow for wedding room blocks, but the venue has provided a list of recommended hotels, bed and breakfast, and apartment rentals that are within 5 to 15 minutes walking distance from the wedding and welcome reception venue. Villa Oliviero also rents apartments that are a few steps away from the venue. Let us know if you are interested in learning more about these and we can get you more information.
Unfortunately we have limited capacity at the villa so we will not be able to accommodate children.
Layers - we’re hoping that it will be warm during the day (could get up to the 70s with the sun), but at night it will be cool (in the 50s). Definitely check the forecast ahead of time, but I recommend you bring layers, as you will need a jacket at night. Power adapter - don’t forget you won’t be able to charge your electronics without one!
Yes! All events will be outdoors (weather permitting). Don't forget to bring layers! There will be heat lamps and blankets if it is cold during the wedding events.
We have everything we need! We're happy to accept a donation to a charity of your choice or a contribution to our honeymoon fund, but don't feel pressure to do so. We understand that this trip isn't cheap, so we're just happy to be celebrating with you.
Our wedding planner recommended Positano Limousine Service. You can reach out to Carmine at info@limocarservice.net. Tell her that you are attending a wedding at Villa Oliviero and Alice Oliviero recommended their service. You can choose your pickup time and place and request a quote directly via email. They are a white glove limousine service, so you may find less expensive options by hailing a taxi, booking through your hotel, or finding a car transfer through Viator.
We recommend going to a phone store, like Vodafone, and purchasing a SIM card for your phone. There is a Vodafone in the Naples train station, Napoli Centrale. When we were there in April, we paid about 30 euros for unlimited data. Just make sure to call your phone company in advance to ensure that your phone is open and can accept a new SIM card. Alternatively, you can purchase an international plan with your US phone company, but this tends to be about $10 per day, which is more expensive than the SIM card.
There are about 200 stairs from the main road to get to the villa. We will be providing the ladies with a pair of flip flops the day of the wedding so that you don't have to climb the stairs in heels. Take it slow and steady and then you'll forget all about it once you arrive for the party :)
