Heidi and I met during our sophomore year of High School. At recess and lunch we would play cards and every now and then, I would throw a game. I would fold the nut flush in hold'em, hold on to my last couple cards in speed, I would break up a pair of 7's so she could get rid of her low singles in rich man poor/poor man, and I would call bulls*** on obvious truths in hands of B.S. She didn't need any help to win, but man- did I enjoy it when she did, because it was in those moments I fell in love with her perfect smile. After 14 years together, I am falling even more in love with that smile. I fell more in love with that smile when we stepped foot into our first apartment in Eugene Oregon. When she came home with our lil' puppy Zeus wrapped up her arms, when she completed my "O" at the Duck football games, when we both tasted the world's greatest cheesecake together, I fell more in love. That smile calmed all my nerves after I proposed to her with a shaking ring in my hand. I fell more in love with her smile every time she found a rare shell in the sand. When she smiled through her snorkel mask when we swam through a school of fishes, when we saw a Humpback whale jump into a West Oahu sunset, when we turned the key and opened the door to our first home, I fell more in love. I fall more in love with her smile everyday I see her come home from a busy day of teaching. Everyday she laughs at my weird, awkward, amazing jokes, Everyday that we spend late mornings together tucked into warm blankets, I fall more in love. I look forward to her smile on our wedding day. On each date night, every time we hold hands, every time we make up after a fight, every candle, every wave, every joke, every bbq, every hug, after every kiss, after every single card game, Every single day, I look forward to falling even more and more in love with her smile.
