Welcome to our wedding website! We are so excited for you to join us on our special day. Our hope for our wedding is to spend the day surrounded by loving family and friends - we want it to be relaxed, fun, and involve lots of dancing!
We met on a December evening at a party in the W Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong. Jeremy was on a semester abroad in his final year at law school, and Hannah was living in Hong Kong with her family. We spent the whole evening talking to each other. A few days later, we had a magical first date: we spent the entire night walking around Hong Kong, telling each other everything we could think of. A few days later, Jeremy had to return to Canada to complete his studies, but our connection was so strong that we kept communicating from across the world. A year later, we had both moved to the United States. We met up in New York and fell in love with each other. We are so grateful to have found each other on one side of the world, and then again on another continent.
Hannah sneakily planned an elaborate scavenger hunt which took Jeremy across New York, with stops at places where meaningful moments in our relationship had occurred. At each stop, a dear friend of ours would meet Jeremy and give him instructions to go to his next location. The route told the story of our relationship to date: it started at the W Hotel in Union Square, representing where we met in Hong Kong. It moved on to a Hong Kong style diner in Chinatown, emblematic of our first date. The next stop was Grand Central Terminal, where we decided to commit to our relationship. After that, the path took Jeremy to a coffeeshop that was between our then-workplaces, where we would sometimes meet for coffee or snacks during the work week. After taking a ferry over to Queens, the next stop was Jeremy's first New York apartment building in Long Island City, where Hannah would visit almost every weekend when she was in university. The following stop was a French bakery in Long Island City, representing our first trip we took together, to Paris. After that, Jeremy found his way to a park bench where we had our first kiss after reuniting in New York. Then, back in Manhattan, the route took Jeremy to the roof of our apartment building, where we had moved in together. Finally, the last stop found Jeremy back in our apartment, where Hannah proposed to him. He said yes!
